With the way both local and national media are here with weather situations, I just find that so surreal and unbelieveable.

Just can't believe it didn't get mentioned even briefly!

EDIT: LOL, As I post this there is a "FOX NEWS ALERT" on Vince being a hurricane now!

I think that we can really say how useless all of the models are with this guy.

EDIT: I do like the 18Z BAMD, though. That would give Vince some potential!

Its worth talking about because of how and where it formed and its possible trajectory towards Europe, and the fact that we are on the "V" storm all by itself. Especially worth talking about to our European friends.

If he wasn't worth talking about, then why did you make a post in this thread in the first place? It seems rather uncessesary and distracting to those who DO want to read and talk about Vince

Aren't there elections today in Portugal? Perhaps that's more interesting for the moment.
The people in Portugal will welcome any rain that Vince can bring into their country. They've had a very hot and dry summer with lots of forest fires.
And I don't think Vince will make landfall in Portugal, it will stay outside in the ocean. And furthermore: I guess it will weaken tomorrow.

I must say this is all a bit surreal. Over here we are used to following TCs all around the world (Mainly in the North Atlantic) but to have one form so close by is just crazy.

OK...can you tell us what your reasoning is on why it will stay out to sea?

Every hurricane model shows it making landfall near 48 hours.

Any comments please on the Eleuthera thread that I started, before the sun sets on the visible satellite. Thanks.

There is a ridge of high pressure from NW Africa northwards into Spain and France. According to the latest GFS, UKMO and ECMWF Vince will merge with a coldfront, moving NE-NNE and passing the NW tip of Spain while staying off land.

WEll, its not worth talking about to me..that was my opinion, I'm interested in US storms not fishes, i come on this board also as a supporter for my safety through the education of this board.

I can say I'm sorry for saying it as i did or maybe should have not mentioned it at all, but still will get flamed which does not matter to me really as i really did not say anything wrong.

So again my opinion as im entitled to as the rest of you people, sorry if i offened anyone, and i wont apologize again if i receive more posts against my comment. :D

Now I know the Spaniards & Portuguese love their sardines but I wouldn't really refer to them as fish

I think the fascination with this storm is that it appears to be a freak of nature that should never have got as strong as it has.

I'm really enjoying this discussion - I don't think we've ever had a true hurricane this close to us here in England before - it's fascinating!

Seems premature to label it a hurricane based on Dvorak when it's over waters that aren't supposed to be able to support any kind of true tropical storm. Is there any validation for Dvorak for storms forming over water this cool? I'll bet not.

Certainly they should be moving heaven and earth to get recon into this oddity. Kerry Emmanuel has said the warming-associated increases in intensity are far higher than simulations predict. Vince might tell us something about why tropical storms are getting more intense.

Here in Portugal we have elections.

Because of that there isn´t any news about Hurricane Vince.
