I can see the headlines now...Devoted DH fan, faints!

Well, she is somewhat Duckie....don't splash me now. Either that or she's playing George as Brent suggests.

But here's what doesn't fit. If she does suspect George had a direct hand in Rex's "murder" (he he), why would she bring him into her home and have him spend time with her children? That is going way too far....which mmmmm, makes me now suspect Rex is alive and in the basement....ready to protect his family at any second...

Wait, they already have one holed up resident on Wisteria Lane....LOL

Sunny - Saturday evenings seem to have become Rerun Night. We noticed Lost, DH and 3 episodes of My Name is Earl, all on this past Sat. I was really hoping Joey had a few reruns (for Chad), but no Joey. I just checked and DH is not on next Saturday. But maybe they'll add it.

From TV Guide.....Monday morning DH critique...

http://www.tvguide.com/TV/Watercooler/

Desperate Housewives
First off, Joely Fisher needs to go. I get that she's supposed to be the boss from Hell, but come on. She's Cruella deVille with a boob job and a better benefits package. And Lynette darting from staff meeting to computer screen to video IM with her kid? Nope. Not buying it, even on sale. Apparently, a lot of you didn't buy Betty's therapy chat last week, either. And you're all probably right. Maybe she was spilling her guts to get those sedatives. That doesn't mean the dude who made such a mess of breakfast isn't still her hubby. Especially with that "I've had my share of family knock-down, drag-outs" comment. The family I would like to knock down and drag out — to counseling — is the Myers clan. Between Susan ambushing Edie and Julie's church talent-show act, her patently humiliating scene at said event, and Karl's affinity for emotionally crippled women, none of these people should be allowed to play together. Nor should Bree and George, so let's hope that she sees through those flying colors on his polygraph test and realizes that her lab-coated crush is a superfreak of murderous proportions. If he needs to maybe take out the mother-in-law to open her eyes, so be it. Which brings us to Gaby and Carlos. Guess what? Loving them. Best scenes of the night, right down to Eva Longoria trotting out the soap-trained tears for her big apology. Totally worth pausing my marathon screening of the Veronica Mars Season 1 DVDs. But now, if you'll excuse me, I have to get back. It turns out there was an even better mystery last year than Mary Alice's suicide. How come none of you told me, huh? — Damian J. Holbrook

That is an interesting point. I don't completely buy that she is playing him, I just thought it was a theory to point out.

REX IS DEAD! :P

Last week ABC added last Saturday's DH repeat on Tuesday or Wednesday, so I'll keep an eye out. I know that next Saturday(October 22nd) this coming Sunday's episode is re-airing.

Well, if a mother suspects someone possibly murdered her husband, she would not trust that person around her children. Even if they're teenagers. No way! You'd have to brainwash me first.....they would not set one foot in my front door!

Brent - your new sig should be:

REX IS DEAD!

Then Duckie and I can add:

OH NO HE'S NOT!!!!

Page Kennedy is the actor we saw last night that came out of the basement... he graduated high school in 1987 which makes him 35-36 years old. Too young to be the father of Matthew... unless....

I have to agree with Ducky. Bree is one of my favorite characters, she makes me laugh out loud every week. My favorite scenes were with her trying to catch a Philly cheese steak in mid air while in bed with her husband, putting the sex toys in the dishwasher and seaching the church for the perfect Ralph Lauren tie. She's perfect for that role.

I loved the scene where Edie was screwing up on the piano and Susan was adjusting the ex-husbands camera in order to get it all on record!!!lol

Did you notice that the guy locked in the basement doesn't talk. He should be yelling "LET ME OUT OF HERE" but not a word is uttered. hmmmmmmm

Scheduling news:

NO repeat this Saturday

New episodes the next 2 weeks with repeats the following Saturdays at 10(October 22 and 29).

A repeat of the premiere on October 30(looks like we may avoid the month long periods of nothing new this time) and then November Sweeps so we should have no repeats.

I'm interested in who meets her birth father.

:?:

This is the very first spoiler on this episode so plots can change.

Felicia is playing George's mother!!!! Wow, I remember her from Another World....oops, that's her character name, Linda Dano I mean.....LOL

They had her character have a face lift on air, but in real life she had one too. So it wasn't faked, that's what I remember about that actress.

Had to laugh at the polar reference....there is a definite rivalry going on between DH and Lost.....

I'm thinking her character will be freaky and mysterious. George has to get it from somewhere.

She could also be the woman that will warn a "housewife"(presumably Bree) about the "man she is dating"(George). Sounds like he has had a bad history with women.

I'm really interested in what will happen after they find out Rex was murdered. I wonder if Bree will be so unsuspecting of George then...

Who's in the basement?
Mehcad Brooks tightlipped about 'Housewives' plot

Thursday, October 13, 2005; Posted: 10:29 a.m. EDT (14:29 GMT)

Mehcad Brooks is sexy but wholesome, says "Desperate Housewives" creator Marc Cherry.

LOS ANGELES, California (AP) -- Mehcad Brooks likes being Wisteria Lane's latest hunk. Just don't ask him what's in the basement.

"It changes you as much as you let it," he says of his newfound fame as Matthew Applewhite on ABC's "Desperate Housewives." "You kind of need to keep the same people around you."

But that means his "bills are higher," he jokes, because he's picking up the restaurant tab for his pals more often.

Matthew and mother Betty (Alfre Woodard) are objects of curiosity and suspicion in the neighborhood because of what they seem to be hiding in their home.

And such interest isn't limited to the script. In recent weeks Brooks has been approached by strangers demanding to know more about the mysterious cellar dweller, who on the last episode managed to escape captivity and had to be subdued by Matthew and mom with a pistol butt to the back of the head.

But Brooks will only say many surprises are in store for the popular soap opera.

"It's like those little Russian dolls. Open them up and there's more inside. The stories are very layered," he says.

Before moving to Wisteria Lane, Brooks was a relatively unknown actor, usually cast in athletic roles -- most recently as a basketball player in the upcoming movie "Glory Road," about the 1966 team with the first all black starting lineup that won the NCAA national championship.

"My favorite thing about 'Housewives' is that I don't have to dribble a basketball," says the 6-foot-3-inch actor, who turned down basketball scholarships to attend the University of Southern California's school of cinema-television.

Now to address the TV season's other watercooler question: Yes, Brooks is single.

"I'm really a kind of casualty of romance," he says, self-mockingly comparing his situation to the romantically challenged "Housewives." "I either ruin the relationship myself or I get hurt a lot."

Brooks, who turns 25 on October 25, was born in Austin, Texas, the son of a professional football player and a journalist. He recalls his passion for acting began at age 4 on a trip to Universal Studios with his grandmother.

"I said, 'Grandma, this is what I want to do with my life,' because I looked around and figured out that people made a living there."

"Desperate Housewives" shoots at Universal.

Brooks has worked as a model, but to help pay his tuition he also took less glamorous jobs, including window washer and theater usher.

"Desperate Housewives" creator Marc Cherry says 100 to 150 young men were considered before sending about 25, including Brooks and brother Billy, to meet the producers.

Cherry had not originally written the Applewhites to be black. But after two other actresses turned down the role of Betty, Woodard was suggested. As a "huge fan," Cherry immediately felt she was ideal.

"I'm not one of those guys who says, 'Oh, we have to have diversity,"' he explains. "I just want great actors -- that's all I care about. Then when it came time to look for a son for her we just wanted someone who was sexy, but wholesome. Mehcad (pronounced Muh-CAD) had just a fine upstanding look about him, but he has a slightly dangerous sexy quality too, and we thought it was an intriguing combination."

Brooks agrees with Cherry's colorblind casting.

"The way I look at it, dysfunction has no color. It's equal opportunity, it invades every family no matter what economic level, no matter what race," he says. "It just so happens the Applewhites have a darker pigment of the skin."

From Spoilerfix:

10/14 - Veteran soap actress Linda Dano is joining the "Desperate Housewives" crew. Dano, who starred in "Another World," "One Life to Live" and many other soaps, will play Francine, the mother of George (Roger Bart), the creepy pharmacist who's in love with Bree (Marcia Cross) and might have poisoned her husband, Rex. "They sort of left me to my own devices as to what to play," Dano said yesterday. "They wanted Francine to be dressed not high-end or low-end but somewhere in the middle. "She's a colorful woman, bigger than life who's got a big personality - and she's absolutely devoted to her boy." The episode, titled "I Must Be Dreaming," is tentatively scheduled to air Sunday, Nov. 20 (9 p.m./Ch. 7). There's no word on whether Dano's role will be a one-time-only appearance or grow into a recurring character. "My scenes are with Marcia Cross and Roger [Bart], and they're both lovely people and lots of fun," Dano said. Source: New York Post

You know what's funny? We (or most of us, at least) seem to be assuming that George's actions were the cause of Rex's death.

However, did anyone find it strange how Andrew said, "It takes guts to kill somebody" when he was telling his mom that he didn't think she did it and then that she shouldn't take that as a compliment?

If anything, DH likes to throw surprises our way. I think they want us to think we know what's going on, but keep us guessing.

But George was responsible. He gave him sugar pills and caused elevated potassium levels.

The Yahoo preview clip http://tv.yahoo.com/feature/desperatehousewives.html with Andrew/George/Bree appears to be showing us Andrew is suspicious about something.

I'm waiting for when the autopsy comes back... to see how Bree feels about him then. But now I'm wondering, will the autopsy be able to prove he was poisoned or that he just had elevated potassium levels?

Based on the preview with Grey's Anatomy last night, it appears Susan and Mike will get back together tonight:

They are outside at night and Mike says "We don't have to be casual anymore" and then Susan says "I can be naked in 20 seconds".
