Central Caribbean Blob/Central Atlantic ULL

#1 Postby Tampa Bay Hurricane » Mon Oct 10, 2005 6:24 pm

Is it moving? Is it deepening? What an odd feature...
EDIT: Also note the massive blob in the Caribbean

That blob is being sheared...is shear forecasted to lessen in
the next 1-2 days? (cause some globals are indicating development in
this area)

I presume the globals are predicting lesser shear by
deepening this blob...please correct me if I am mistaken

Remember the thread about a storm the size of Typhoon Tip in the Atlantic?
Well this (non-tropical) system is about that big... it is causing flooding rains in both South America and New England...

For kicks someone with access to Photoshop could take the central core from Rita or Katrina, scale it up to appropriate size and graft it into the center of that satellite photo...

Yeah, shear is forecasted to lessen some there in the next several days I think. Speaking of developing, I'm almost a tropical depression!!!

That central Carribean blob is REALLY flaring up...it really bears
close watching once the shear begans to relax

Yeah, I wonder if this develops where the center will form, from the part in the central Caribbean or the part near Puerto Rico?

Possibly both, but IMO the central Carribean....due to it being
further away from the Shearing ULL and due to the more
intense convection concentration.
The ULL when its shear lessens, the system near puerto rico
could develop- as well as the central carribean blob

Several global models are hinting at 2 systems in 2-4 days...so
both may develop if the shear lessens as forecasted....

Well the thing north of Puerto Rico will head generally towards Bermuda and may spread rain(again) up into the big cities... the Caribbean thing will probably follow behind it.

***The following is not even a forecast-- it is just a theoretical
exploration***:

The only chance it may circle would be for a very strong cold front
to exert a pull on it at the end of this week....and for that
front to stall just off the FL West Coast, and if that were to
occur (hypothetically speaking...none of this is forecasted to happen
right now)...it would circle anywhere from FL to Cuba....

This setup is not likely to take place...but anything's possible...so
it's always good to watch this stuff...

As for where this blob is going...it's difficult to say at this point...
