 Mariel??????

 It wasn't Mariel, it was the one not into show business. I think her name was Lorianne or Lorian. She was incredibly striking with long dark hair and well-sunned leathery skin, and as friendly and genuine as any person you could ever meet.

We had no clue who she was until we got back to Tampa and watched that Florida travel show with the guy from Miami Vice (can't remember the show's name now either). They were doing a special on Hemingway, and there she was on TV being interviewed about her grandfather. She did pretty good for having bashed Key West to pieces in person

Somewhere out there (and I wish I could find it), one of my neonatal docs wrote a medical journal article about me and how they used bovine surfactant and positive pressure breathing (respirator) therapy to treat hyaline membrane syndrome (a lung disorder in premature babies). At one time, babies born with it rarely lived past four months and it's what took the life of Patrick Kennedy (baby of John and Jackie).

I cheated death. :)

"...bovine surfactant ..."?

Somone explain this to me...the mind reels at the possible implications.

(Had to dig this thread out of the basement but I knew it was floating around somewhere.)

Now, I can add legendary blues guitarist B.B. King to the list. :)

He gave me a guitar pick...very cool souvenir. Got to field phone calls for him and chase off a few fans who wandered in off the street and up to our unit. Even got to tell his manager, "I'm sorry...he's resting right now and asked for no phone calls. May I take a message?" Also met his son, bus driver, and a handful of bodyguards. No sign of Lucille...but I didn't ask. Almost everyone stayed out of his room unless he asked for something specific or was being seen by his physician or nurse. Obviously, he needed to rest and get better. But I got to go in and see him twice -- once to take something in to the nurse and once to fix his TV (he likes CNN Headline News and the TV wasn't tuning it in at first). :)

Didn't work today so I didn't get to see him when he was discharged. But I've been told there might be an autograph waiting for me when I get back (wasn't right to ask for it while he was sick and in our care).

Without a doubt, yesterday was one of the best days of work ever. :)

I took pictures for Ed Tillison who was the running back for the Detroit Lions (don't know when, I took pictures after his NFL career)

I met Archie Manning as a child, and worked with Bobby Herbert's kids, and Bobby would often be there watching.

When I was a kid I got to ride the chairlift with Jean Claude Killy. And .... Richard Nixon wrote me a letter during his presidency.

Let see who I have met famous.

David Levy-The one who discovered Comet Shoemaker-Levy 9, that crashed into Jupiter. I have his autograph. 8-)

Jenna Bush-President George W. Bush's twin duaghter. I met her at a Christmas party at a frat house. I was dancing with some people and I stumbled upon her and she smiled at me. :grrr: I consider her a friend because I saw her again and again.

Aw you lucky thing! I did meet him down in the Quarter. I happened upon him by accident and was so freaked out I was speechless. He thought that was so funny and gave me a signed autograph plus had his people send me some tickets. He is a very kind soul and he is the king as far as I am concerned.

I am glad he is feeling better!!

I went to high school with Sean Landeta, and shook hands with Bill Clinton when he was President at the Korean War Memorial dedication in DC. Other than perhaps a few local TV mets, I've never met anyone else that could be considered famous.

I've seen the queen a few times, but I don't know her personally ;)

I've also dated the daughter of our minister for integration, youth care, prevention and probation for two months. It ended pretty quickly after I found out she looked a bit too much like her mother :(

He punted for the Eagles a few years back.
