Gotta disagree with u this time doc. I have never seen a cold core system with that type of sattelite presentation. Its got at least some warm core features even if isnt purely "tropical".

^its a very common occurrence over the Black Sea, but definitely no tropical characteristics considering the location. It may 'look' like it does, but so did 'Hurricane Huron'. The two systems are probably very similar.

I have to back up Doc on this one. This was definately a cold-core system. Granted the waters were a little warmer than you'd think... they were still plenty cool on comparison. Furthermore, the temperatures aloft were more like a deep occluded low. I, unfortunately, had to deal with this pesky storm and had watched it develop.

No, it is not. Here is the analysis by a german meteorologist about the low in the Black Sea:

It's in german, but with many images. The system was very likely a subtropical storm wih good outflow in some sectors, banding features and warm core.
