EAST ATLANTIC TROPICAL WAVE JUST W OF THE CAPE VERDE ISLANDS
ALONG 28W S OF 17N MOVING W 15 KT. THE CIRCULATION ASSOCIATED
WITH THIS WAVE IS BECOMING INCREASINGLY WELL-DEFINED AND THE
CONVECTIVE STRUCTURE SHOWS SOME BANDING ESPECIALLY TO THE E OF
THE AXIS. MODEL TRENDS...PARTICULARLY FROM THE GFS...INDICATE
THAT LOW PRES MAY BE DEVELOPING ALONG THE WAVE AND THIS SEEMS
REASONABLE GIVEN THE CURRENT STRUCTURE. SCATTERED
MODERATE/ISOLATED STRONG CONVECTION FROM 5N-15N BETWEEN 25W-32W.
SCATTERED MODERATE IS ALSO OVER THE CAPE VERDE ISLANDS FROM
14N-17N BETWEEN 22W-26W.
8 PM Discussion about this wave.
Umm getting more interesting as time goes by.

A LARGE TROPICAL WAVE... ACCOMPANIED BY A BROAD LOW SURFACE LOW
PRESSURE SYSTEM... IS LOCATED ABOUT 475 MILES SOUTHWEST OF THE CAPE
VERDE ISLANDS. THIS SYSTEM HAS CHANGED LITTLE... BUT SOME SLOW
DEVELOPMENT IS STILL POSSIBLE DURING THE NEXT DAY OR TWO AS IT
MOVES WEST-NORTHWESTWARD AT 10 TO 15 MPH.
10:30 PM TWO.

No kidding. And not just for the activeness, but for what it's produced. 2005 saw one of the greatest of all time. All young female hurricanes of the future will have posters of Katrina on their wall. They will look up to her. I can just see it now...
In 2008:
Dolly: "Mommy, when I grow up, I want to be just like Katrina! She was the bestest hurricane EVER!!!"
Bertha: "That's wonderful, sweetie. Just believe in yourself, and you can be anything you want to be. Oh, and also, watch out for wind shear. NEVER get close to it. If it tries to offer you candy or a ride in the car, you say, NO! Got it?"
Dolly: "Okay, mommy. Now, go buy me another Katrina doll."
...kids. So greedy.

back to the topic...
there is definite circulation at 15N 55W
http://www.ssd.noaa.gov/PS/TROP/DATA/RT ... -loop.html
i will be interested to see what happens there later today when it gets slammed by the line of weather ahead of it, although i am NOT anxious for any other storms. we have all had enough. i don't want wilma, alpha or anyone else for that matter. let's close out 2005 early.

I have to agree with that statement.
