What concerts have you been too?

I was thinking.... My concert history is pretty lame....but i have seen Pato Bonton(which was a reggae band in the late 80's).....The Cure and Nine Inch Nails.....all when i was in my early 20's......(10 years later)of course i still like some of that music but my taste in music has changed alot....I was raised on classic rock (from my dad)... and now a days...

I like all kinds of music......country....rock....alternative.....hip-hop......pop.....some rap.....some oldies.....some jazz......just about everything.....


So what concerts have you been too?

If I hadn't gotten married in May of 1972, I would have been on that plane. I was asked to tour with Lynard Skynard as part of the stage crew, but declined since I had just gotten married and figured being away from my new wife for several months would not be smart. The guy that asked me to go was on the plane and survived and is now a VP at Pace Concerts(or whatever they are called now).

OK, my age is really showing here: I saw the Beatles on their FIRST and second U.S. tours! Back in the 60's in Chicago, local groups like the Shadows of Night (sp?) and other "one-hit wonders" played teen clubs, etc. for free or very minimal cost, so I saw many of them. And you're so right, weathermom, about the fuzzy memories. Most of the 60s and 70s are kind of a blur, but I do remember seeing the original Jefferson Airplane in the late 60s at a free concert in Grant Park.

Other memories include Steely Dan, but (as I've posted before) my all-time fave for a get-your-money's-worth show has to be Bruce Springsteen (three times and counting).

One reason I tend to stay away from more concerts these days is that I'm not comfortable in huge-crowd-venues. Another is that West Palm caters more to the "blue-hair" set regarding musical artists and Miami is a bit of a drive (unless it's Bruce...). The third reason is that tickets/parking for major concerts practically require a second mortgage!
