Definitely Camillle. With all this hype about Katrina possibly not being as strong as we originally thought, I have to pick Camille instead of her.

That picture is from a tornado chase in Nebraska last summer. Some fools have been trying to pass off pictures like this for the last year as the beginnings of a hurricane approaching. It isn't!!!!

Argh, I hate when people confuse hurricanes and tornadoes. Hurricanes are 7569258679654986 times bigger. Get it right, people.

If it were possible to see exactly what each hurricane could do without any suffering involved (people, animals, plants, lifeforms not mentioned), I'd want to see Katrina, Rita, and those really bad canes that hit Key West and Galveston.

Well, after having been through both, I'm not sure I'd define either as my "favorite". Each was/is a pain in the butt, to say the least. But they definitely give a whole different look - and new perspective - to the world, that's for sure.

I want to travel back to Miami in September, 1926, and watch the storm surge roll over the causeway bridges, as I've heard that it did.

I would choose Andrew, but I've already seen him. hehe so tiny, compared to the rest of those pictured in this thread. Out of its entire life cycle, though, I think Andrew had its best satellite presentation *exactly* as it was coming ashore in S. Dade. Timing couldn't have been worse for that one. We were all told how it had weakened over the Bahama Bank. If I remember correctly, we were expecting at the most, a low Cat. 4.

Andrew was the first storm I ever tracked (it was also the first year we had cable and I discovered a channel ALL ABOUT WEATHER--I miss those days when the Weather Channel was actually good)

I can't say it was my favorite, as several aunts and uncles lost their houses in South Dade (except, oddly, the one in Cutler Ridge who barely got a scratch from the winds--and that's where the cat 5 winds were!), but Andrew got me into the hobby.

Indeed, just have a look at http://www.extremeinstability.com/storms, nice supercell photos earlier on in this thread though.

I'd have to go with Vince, we don't tend to get tropical systems over here.
