Yeah my bill is like $536.00 for two months and for two weeks out those two months I didnt have electricity... I guess we are going to pay for Katrina one way or another. The electric company did say they would set up payment arrangements if needed, but I'm just so happy to have electricity I will pay it gladly... Hopefully soon the price will start to come down.

$450, and that's for one month.
Katrina took out my upstairs unit and when we finally got power on, the downstairs unit couldn't keep up, thus never shutting off and running up the meter.
Just like gas in the car though. You're going to pay whatever the cost, it's not like you're going to voluntarily turn off your A/C .... especially in the August/September timeframe. Maybe after Halloween...

Steve my fuel adjustment was higher than my meter part, and I guess that is understandable. I called Entergy and complained because they charged me a late fee. I could not believe it! I called and the lady told me they were not charging late fees, and refused to believe that they had made an error she actually argued the point with me. I had to explain to her that I am not an idiot and I can read on the bill where it said Late charges. I checked around and sure enough I was the only one with a late fee.

I normally have a pretty high bill .. 175-200
Mine was $309 last month and $542 this month. To make matters worse, they have cashed my last payment and not credited it to my account and THEN they sent me a disconnect notice. I pay through automatic bill pay and I have documented proof that the money isn't in my account.
Still, I paid a month ahead to keep them from shutting me off. This time I WALKED IN to get better documentation.
Its killing me. I hear the other electric company in the area is having normal bills. Fortunately I am moving into their area in about a months time ... likely in time for them to start hitting up their customers for their costs.

Who is your electric company?

Shoot. The phone company sent me a bill for Oct 4 - Nov 5....which I will not be paying, because my phone went out on Oct 1 and supposedly won't be repaired until mid-Nov.
I don't blame you!! I had quite a row with Entergy over my electric bill. I am in the process of writing an open letter to the TP. I am in a position to pay my bill, there are others who may not be.
My cable bill, including my internet service was $6.02. Of course, since I am not receiving my mail, I have to go on-line to find my balances.

Entergy. Just found out they are waiting until November 1st before cutting people off. I also just found out that the reason it is taken out of my account is because my bill-pay sends it as a corporate check. Entergy hasn't seen the money yet because of a post office delay. They "should have that cleared up next week".
We will see ... I am still counting the days until I send my last dime to Entergy. (only 5 weeks to go)
