why, you can go there and buy your own supplies before everyone else.

Yeah, we pretty much only need water and gas too. Last year we were without power for 12 days with Frances and boy did that grill come in handy! Stinks that gas prices are so high right now. Here they are flopping between 2.86 and 2.97. I was in Orlando over the weekend and saw it for 2.65. I can't believe how much they are fluctuating, ridiculous.
So I guess we just gotta sit and wait for when the e/ne turn happens...

I told my boss last Friday that this storm was going to be hitting us from the southwest. But I was in too much of a hurry, I said Friday and it looks (at this point) like Sunday.

Filled both of the family trucksters last night (ouch!)... diesel fuel in particular is getting ridiculously priced. I never thought I'd long for the days when it cost "only" $65 to fill my truck. Last night was $91 for mine and my wifes Suburban they limited to $100... My generator fuel stockpile is good to go (bought all of that back in June), both generators serviced, fueled and ready to work if needed. Just need to refill the second bottle for the grill and resupply the snacks and we're set. And I was planning on riding to Biketoberfest in Daytona Beach this weekend...

You are not alone. My daughter is the same way! Well, they'll learn to appreciate the room temp gallon jugs, etc. if it comes down to it. I sure hope it doesn't though!
We just restocked our emergency bottles last night...need more propane, gas, etc...didn't realize how we'd let the supplies start to run down! False sense of security this late in the season...I'll bet it will be hoppin' at Publix!

Don't forget to take some cash out of the bank ahead of time.... that was the thing that hurt us the worst with Katrina. We had neglected to take any cash out, thinking that we were staying home anyway, so what did we need money for, and if we did need money we could just use the debit card. Well, after the storm hit and we decided to leave town because of the conditions, we had no cash to buy gas on the trip out and no one was taking credit cards.... and since our bank was located in Gulfport, it was nearly 3 weeks before we could even access our money! We had to depend on family members to take care of every need we had while we were at their home, which will make you humble quickly!
