Paul, what are your plans as far as Bonita is concerned. Staying, going?

Also, if anyone from Naples/Bonita/Ft. Myers wants to exchange phone numbers (moral support, assistance, etc.) please PM me.

I'm leaving on a cruise Saturday out of Ft Lauderdale. Great timing.

Should be a snotty Saturday night. That passage is rough in normal weather.

Doc's sits in a very precarious position near the beach but hopefully Wilma will stay south of there.

Thanks for this thread!! I am debating what to do tomorrow to prepare. We don't have shutters but I have a garage full of plywood we bought last year. I think we are in evacuation zone 3. According to our developer, the house is at 14 ft and we are about a mile inland. We do have the basics, water, batteries, canned food, generator and a few gas cans. I filled the car today.

If we do evacuate, we will probably go to a friend's house in Boynton. They have window film and shutters and are pretty far inland (near the turnpike). The best thing is that they will take us with our three dogs and cat.

After waking up to the headlines "Strongest Atlantic Hurricane on Record" this morning, I'd suggest you pack...

We're up here in Sarasota and thinking about it...

What day do you think is most plausible for evacuation? At this point, kids are in school and the path and strength are still questionable, but later I-75 will be a parking lot.
