Will Wilma beat Gilbert?!

With Wilmas new pressure reading at 901mb now(WOW) Can it beat it i think Gilbert was 882mb!Correct me if im wrong!

Gilbert was 888. Lowest ever recorded anywhere was 870.

I think it has a decent shot at Gilbert's, but not 870.

I don't believe it will be as intense as Gilbert, but the way this season has gone I guess anything is possible.

the records are bascially 1mb apart so the race is jam pack right now

I would not be surprised if she broke the record. This has been the season of records being shattered, after all. But when you sit back and realize how crazy this season has been, it is truly amazing. 1933 and 1995 mean nothing now. This is the season every majorly active season from now on will be compared to. Of course, I don't think we will ever see a season like this again. It's just unreal. I am honored that I got to be around to witness this. People will talk about this season for years and years to come.

Wilma had now bumped Katrina out of the top 5. This is unreal, also Wilma I think is most likely a Cat 5 now.

I agree. This season has been crazy, but Tip doesn't have to worry. She won't go that low.

I can't see this thing getting much lower... the eye is too small. There will have to be an ERC.

Minumum potential intensity supports 880s (with ideal conditions, of course).

Same here...its unbelievable what has gone on this year...I really hope an Alpha forms then fizzles in the Atlantic, just to top the season off.

Just heard on TWC (0250 Tropical Update) that Hurricane Wilma's pressure is down to 892 mb and her winds are up to 175mph. She just may beat Gilbert on lowest pressure.

Gilbert also had a tiny pinwheel eye, if I recall....
(Actually, I don't recall - I was born in 1988! :lol: But I've seen pictures....)
