I think they will find the next pass a pressure of 888 millibars with 185 mph.

Senorpepr - - my father-in-law is flying into Ft. Lauderdale Sat. morning - flight due in by 11:15. DO you think he will have a problem getting ehre?

I know - he is nuts for still wanting to come here right now. :eek:

I'm supposed to be flying into Key West Saturday morning (arriving at 11:00 a.m.). !! Coming from Tampa Bay area !

I think Wilma hasn't had much time to build a massive surge. However, if her windfield expands....

For your first question... too early to tell, IMO.
For your second... it's tightening up... expect further strengthening.

Since the track forecast right now is for a cat 3 or so hurricane to be quite close to the runway at 2 pm Saturday, good chance you won't be.

The eye being so small could that be good news since her windfield of extreme strength would be so small? Am I correct in that or do you expect the windfield to expand in time?

How can it possibly tighten up any more than 2nm? I mean, the tornado that flattened Hallam, Nebraska was wider than that.

I just had a chill when I read Hallam. That cell was 30mi away from me headed directly toward me.

Umm... very minute tightening. 1.75mi, 1.5mi...
