Possibility of Wilma being stronger when hitting Florida....

According to S2k meteorologist Derek Ortt, the next few hours or next day will be critical. Wilma may stall out, but if she stalls stalls in the Yucatan Channel instead of over the Yucatan peninsula, there could be a big impending change in the intensity forecast.

Here is what he had to say about this..."whether this stalls just offshore or onshore could mean a 2 cat difference for Florida."

I don't know, some models are insisting on a bend back west. We will just have to wait and see if this northern movement becomes the trend and the models respond.

IR clearly showing a NNW movement last several frames, I am also surprise the eye has not cleared out.

I'm sick of watching this storm! I live in Venice, Fl and I told my husband not to put anything on the windows for now, and now I'm glad I did. I think this thing is going to either fiz out after destroying Mexico, or hit Florida far enough s. and weak enough, I'm not worried anymore.

I'm wondering if Wilma won't "sense" the land and move along the southern coast until its cleared, sort of like a few hurricanes have done recently with Jamaica. The link stormfury posted looks like it might barely clip or just clear the pennisula.

I personally am so sick of this storm. Everybody who rushed out to get storm supplies 2 days ago including me is going to be out by the time the storm actually hits, if it does.

Trust me better to be ready than caught w/your pants down.I did not have enough supplies to feed my family fully till the Guard came in and had to send them out of town.
