New "LOST" thread

O Town - thanks! It's been a long search for just the right part-time job/hours that do not interfere with my youngest daughter who's still in school. All in all, it was an opportunity I couldn't pass up - paid holidays, sick/personal days, breaks and summers off match up to her school calendar nearly all the time, and she's 15 now. So if she's home sick, I can still work. Just waiting to get a TB test....my doctor's schedule was full until Thursday. I'm on a waiting list for a cancellation. Keep your fingers crossed I get one earlier this week. I didn't even have to scour the Sunday paper want ads yesterday - do you know what a good feeling that is? LOL It helped knowing a good friend of the supervisor and also using 2 current teachers as references. My husband kept saying use your connections....that felt like cheating but in the end, I dropped names like crazy! LOL

Tonight should be a big episode. It is up against Game 6 of the Cardinals/Astros so I will be flipping to the bball game during commercials. I wouldn't miss LOST for anything!

Fans have been complaining about plot murkiness, and last week the show's characters joined in. Like Charlie told Locke: "There are a lot of secrets around here, and I'm tired of being at the bloody kids' table." Clearly, Rose's first visit to the bunker befuddled her. So the writers began haltingly to treat us like teenagers, if not adults. It's good to know something about the "tailies." At least that they're not the "others." Tonight, maybe Michael will find something out about Walt. Or maybe not.

I was just about to post that, I was just saying I am so glad they aren't doing what they did to us last season. And that was make us wait weeks between new episodes. And here they go. Now they will probably show repeats for the next 2 weeks. Man :grrr:

We said the same thing - 3 weeks? We have to ~wait~ 3 long weeks to see what happens next! Arrrgggghhhhh!

Well, if ABC was smart, and are they......mmmmm......they would show us 3 of the 7 episodes they skipped this summer. In fact, I'm firing off an email to them right now. And will they read it, take it into consideration...naw, but heck, it will feel good to write it!

I just love how they slip this bit of news in, with previews, not before....in 3 weeks a episode comes along everyone will be talking about.....bla bla bla. If I had known, I would have suggested they catch up newbie fans the right way - air the episodes they skipped! Sigh, w/o even checking the guide, I'm sure they're airing this season's pilot again. And probably that one hour special, right before the premiere. That leaves one more episode to choose from.....

Okay, my rant is over now.....does anyone want to discuss what happened last night...he he Seems we can't get past not having new shows for 3 weeks!!! LOL

What we noticed after it ended was, no hatch scenes! Wow, and I didn't even really miss them to be honest. Because, I wanted to know what happens next with Michael/Jin/Sawyer. Here's something funny I noticed, I thought I saw the same pair of legs walk past Michael and Mr. Echo twice (do I have his name correct?). Same pair of pants, etc. I'll have to check again. Such a minor detail but those legs appear to belong to real people. Up until then, we suspected the others were spirits or images of people. Or worse, not actual people in the flesh!

When I first started watching I didn't like Jin and Sun much. Thought he was way too controlling, she far too submissive. But now I like this couple. He's turning out to be an all right guy and she is so sweet. You just want this couple to reunite, so badly. The scene with Hurley and Sun, waiting for Vincent to do his thing, hilarious! You could tell Sun was far too genteel to be discussing what they were waiting for....ROFLMAO at Hurley's - my dog crapped out a buck thirty-five in nickles once......man oh man, Hurley gets the best lines each week, consistently! Funny stuff......

You know what creeped me out with seeing the "other's" legs... was none of them had any shoes on? Dont ask me why that fact struck me as odd, but it did. :roll:

OOO and that shot of that mangled teddy-bear was "yucky". I thought it was really neat when Jin managed to catch all those fish and that irritating chick (i think her name is Anna.. the take charge cow) had such a classic look on her face.

One thing I cant wait for is Bernard to finally see Rose again, and the other way around. I think it is soooo sweet how she never ever doubted that he was still alive and she even put the candy bar Hurley gave her into her pocket, almost like she was keeping it for him.

I dont think I can wait 3 weeks for a new episode...

Bad robot? That's cute Amanzi!!! At least your hubby likes this show. Mine can't get past there are polar bears on a tropical island and doesn't buy any of the strange happenings. They crashed, they need to survive until rescuers arrive. Period, end of story, is his thinking. Good thing he's not a TV show writer!!! LOL

Garrett - I wonder if it will be one of the supporting cast, we rarely see. Not Rose, that would be almost too cruel, as Amanzi said she can't wait for her to reunite with Bernard. Me either, anticipating that scene. Along with Sun/Jin's too. While I can't stand Ana-Lucia she seems to be a major character now, they would never kill her off. How about the short haired brunette with Ana's group? Karen or something common was her name? Not the one that talks to Michael. She's seen in group shots, but never has a line. We could lose her. LOL I used to think Shannon should be next but she's been pretty decent to Vincent. And Sayid is good with her. I just hope it's not any of the core group.

Wow! lots to say, but I'll limit it.

First, mary, congrats on the job!

This is pretty funny about the 3 weeks thing -my husband and I said the same thing. he loves Lost, but has to go to work so early in the morning, he's always tired on Thursdays, so he's sort of glad for the break. :wink:

Ditto what you said Mary. The Jin/Sun storyline is getting so good and Hurley and Sun together was just so comical. When I saw they were going to kill someone off, of course, my mind flashed to Ana, but I know that won't happen. I hope they don't get rid of any of the orginal cast either-I just don't have a clue.

I wanted to add Kate is really an endearing character and I liked seeing that side of her in this episode. Hmmm...Sawyer or Jack? Now I don't know who she'll end up with. Guess I'll just have to wait 3 whole weeks to learn more!!!

Elle, wowsa, you mentioned something I completely forgot to comment on - Kate regretting not saying goodbye to Sawyer. Makes you think the minute she sees him, she's going to go running into his arms......hey there freckles, miss me did ya.....no......LOL Meanwhile Jack will be watching this scene from off to the side and know her heart is torn. Yeah, Kate was very endearing with Sun last night. I really think Kate's a good-good person deep down but took the wrong path in life. Since her bank robbery/b/f getting shot and dying episode is one we're missing, I wonder if HE was the one that led her into that life? Just curious....tell me that bit of info so I can understand her character better.

Thanks on the congrats on the job. Next week as this time I could be working in a school cafeteria! Hairnet and all.....

hi all, got a question, my local station went off the air right after Jin saw Micheal on the other side of the stream and went running after him. It can back on right when Sun found her ring. Can someone tell me what I missed in between the two? Thanks

Does anyone happen to have last night's episode on tape? If anyone does and wouldn't mind sending it to me, I'll pay for the postage and the tape, or the postage and send the tape back, whichever. I love LOST and haven't seen any of it this year because of Rita. I was evacuating the night it premiered and have had someone tape the last few weeks, but didn't get last night's. I'm getting that tape soon and dying to catch up!! I've avoided everything about it, even this thread. It hasn't been hard since I still don't have cable and rarely watch any TV at all. (got crawl-up to get online) I closed my eyes and peeked through my fingers to find the REPLY button in here. lol

Anyway, if anyone does, please PM me because I can't open this thread for replies because I might see something about the show. Thanks.

Kelly - I was hoping there would be a repeat this Saturday night, the past few weekends ABC aired Lost repeats. But no luck this week (there is a Desperate Housewives repeat at 10). We record on a DVR, but maybe someone else would have it on a VCR tape. And finally, you can purchase individual Lost episodes at $1.99 each thru iTunes.

Tstormwatcher - you didn't miss much. Michael was adamant about staying out in the jungle, wanting to search for Walt. Ecko was with Jin, and he was trying to get Michael to leave also. Telling him he just doesn't understand what these people - the others - are capable of. They travel quietly, implying you don't even know they're closeby until it's too late. Michael told Ecko they ripped his son right out of his arms. I thought Jin was going to try and explain he saw the others' legs and there were many. And also the dead body. But he did say something, we backed it up and after 2 listens, still couldn't make out what he was trying to tell Michael. Jin put his arm on his shoulder as if to say we'll get your son, we care too. Ecko seemed to care as well, seeing the obvious turmoil Michael was in. Jin and Ecko finally convince Michael to leave that area. I got the impression Ecko will help Michael find Walt, but maybe they're going to return to camp first. All 3 were walking away from the waterfall area when that scene ends. There were constant flashbacks to Jin and Sun during the last 15 minutes, when she learned her arranged date/marriage wasn't going to work out. He had fallen in love with another. She ended their lunch, hurt. He tried explaining she had the wrong idea, that he didn't mean to lead her on. About this time Jin let a father and son, poorly dressed into the hotel b/c the young boy needed to use the bathroom. At first Jin said no, only for hotel guests but the father implored Jin to let them in. He said yes. Just then his boss walked out and told him to go find that family and get them out of the hotel, the boy could use the gutter like others do. Jin took off his hat and gloves, saying he quit. He was walking along a lake/park and so was Sun. She was upset and he had just quit his job. His cousin earlier had said when he saw orange it meant love. Just then a young woman walked by in an orange dress, Jin stopped and turned around to look at her. As he turned back around to walk forward, he bumped into Sun, knocking her purse to the ground. He helped her pick up her purse and items that had fallen out. Making sure she was all right. They both stood up and looked at the other, smiling. Love at first sight obviously. Back on the island Sun had been digging up the bottle, Kate wanted to find it, b/c she never said goodbye to Sawyer. Sun had been crying telling Kate that everyone keeps saying Jin is all right and she knows he's not all right. She was clearly worried for his safety. Just then Kate looks over and sees Sun's wedding ring in the sand. Sun, look.....Sun picked it up and put it on. Started crying and looked very relieved, I'm guessing it brought her peace and probably was a good sign.

That's about all you missed. And promo's for the next ep in 3 weeks. Someone is going to die, they showed almost all of the characters, looks like Sawyer gets hurt again, I thought I heard a gunshot. Ana's group put him in a hammock, carrying him that way. Bernard wants to help Sawyer, and Ana was fighting him. As if now they have to care for this guy.

From what I remember, Mary, they didn't really get into how Kate got into that line of work. Does anyone else remember? I'm curious too.

As for the whole Kate thing, can she have a fling with Sawyer and end up with Jack? I suppose that woudn't be so great being stuck on an island with your ex and your current beau though, would it?

Lots o' tension and there's already plenty of that with Ana!!

Elle - yeah I loved it when Jin spoke back to her in Korean and she of course dishes right back - does it look like I speak Korean? I swear every time that girl opens her mouth, she reminds me instantly of Leah Remini from King of Queens. I hate her Kerry charcacter, the two could be twins - Kerri and Ana...... I just loved it when Jin replies back with - Fish! Sawyer would be saying - take that you biotch! Don't you tell me what to do. What I want to know is this - why didn't Ecko rise to leader of her group....the critic on TV Guide calls them all tailies. I think I will too. LOL Why does Ana get to order them all around? I'm looking forward to her joining the main group, sparks will fly.

Kate just better not have a fling with Sawyer but end up with Jack. Maybe be confused about which one she really likes but she has to end up with Jack! To steal from Friends....he's her lobster!
