Fine with me... when there's a lot of people, the server starts getting really slow. So I'm liking the smooth sailing. :)

Hopefully they are preparing for a hurricane or they have evacuated.

I just took a half-hour break and got caught up on some TV programs I have missed... I had to. It's in between advisories and the hurricane is still inland.

Well, I'm just taking a break from getting everything done so I could eat and get an update on where she is. I assume everyone else is too.

In addition, yeah, there is some hurricane burnout. I wish it would just go away, really. I know that isn't likely to happen, but I'm just really ready for the season to be over.

People in general are very reactionary. What we are seeing here is the fact that Wilma is steadlily weakening due to the interaction with the Yucatan, hence I think some have let their guard down some and are not as interested.

However, when it emerges back over water it should get back to CAT 4 strength because all conditions are still favorable for development. Then you'll see more people back on here.

I have been checking in, but needed a break for a bit. Between it taking forever for this thing to play out, and model threads that rival the wobble threads of old, it wore me out :D

Putting up shutters and cleaning up around the pool. Just doing some last minute stuff before the weather falls apart. 8-)

Frankly, I just got out of bed for the second time. Got up at eight and checked things out. These laaaaaaate nights are getting to me. Thought I'd better get some rest while I could.

I truly think "Miss Wilma" still has some surprises up her sleeve and I want to be awake for them. I'll be back after breakfast/lunch???

shutters ... shutters ... shutters

#18 Postby Weatherboy1 » Sat Oct 22, 2005 1:15 pm

Just got done working with my brother and cousin to get my most exposed windows covered (second story hard to reach, etc.). Took about 2-3 hours (install panel ... move ladder ... loosen screws ... install panel, and so on and so forth.) Phew! Now, on to my parents house (not home) to do some sliders. Then we wait until tomorrow morning to see if Wilma gets a lot stronger over the water or not. If so, the rest of the easy windows -- and those sheltered by a porch roof and all that -- get covered too. Fun, fun, fun, let me tell you!

I think you spoke to soon. Looks like a lot of people and a slow moving board at the moment.
