What would you do?

#1 Postby donner » Sat Oct 22, 2005 1:55 pm

I'll be brief with this. I live in Jupiter and have been up in Tennessee for the week with my 4 year old. We're scheduled to arrive back at PBI around 9:30 Sunday evening. Does anyone have a feel for whether or not the airport will still be open? My biggest fear is leaving TN and ending up stuck in the Atlanta airport for a day or two with my son. Thanks.

I'm not sure... I'm thinking there will already be squalls that may at least cause significant delays(and perhaps some cancellations) by then...

Check with the airline though.

It might still be open, but then you will have a tough time getting home and your house will be far from ready for a storm like this. I'd stay in Tennessee unless you have a good reason to go/be at home

The issue IMO is that the airlines may not send their planes and passengers deliberately into the path... see what I mean??

I was scheduled to fly out on Delta (from Orlando) a few days before Hurricane Jeanne hit last year. Once the airlines deterimined that a storm is a threat, I was allowed to reschedule flights/make changes without a fee. Ended up changing the dates of the trip - didn't cost anything to make the changes. Hope that still is the case.
