interesting similarities between 1933 and 2005
I was just looking at 1933, and much like this year, it was a busy gulf year, and there NO real cape verde long tracked storms. The development was mostly in the vicinity of the lesser antilles and westward. I know 2005 and had a couple cape verdes(if you include Vince)...but it is funny how similar the maps look

that is a good point...I always wonder how the heck they can call these good records...pre-satellite era...I would thing that even the tracks of some of the older storms are questionable, and certainly the strength. there could be man storms that reached cat 5 strength in the middle of the Carribean or Gulf, and the never would know...odds are a ship the eye or eye-wall of a cat 5 didnt make it, or darn sure wouldnt be able to tell the difference between 120 and 160 mph

Vince was no cv hurricane, it formed within an extratropical trough.
