Tampa/Pinellas tropical force winds by 3AM?

#1 Postby tbstorm » Sun Oct 23, 2005 3:35 pm

What do you think?

If we get gusts to 60 that would be about as strong the higher gusts that came thru when Frances hit last year so i am expecting something similar. . . brances down transformers blowing occasionally etc.

Anyone agree?

That sounds possible. From what I can see, we are more likely to get the thunderstorms from Wilma interacting with the cold front. So, more nasty rain than high winds, IMO.

I'm pretty sure I heard one of the local mets, probably Denis Phillips, say that we would have effects here similar to Frances/Jeanne from last year. We lost power for six days from Frances, four from Jeanne... You might want to sign up for the Personal Forecast on TBO.com...you enter your street address and they tailor the forecast for your specific location, including hour-by-hour wind speeds, temps, etc. Mine says 40+ mph winds should start around 3:00 AM. Hope this helps!
