people got to remember Katrina was in the GOM not out in the middle of the Atlantic or Pacific so its hard to tell if she was annular but
but she looked Annular.Espically with that outflow which made her look like a buzzsaw which i thought was beautiful

Actually, I did. From my original post:
In their sample, they found 17 hurricanes which had annular characteristics, but did not meet their definition of annular for one reason of another. Some of the storms you mentioned fell in this group. Read page 218 and look at Table 6 in that paper.
I added the bold to show that I DID say "Read page 218 and look at Table 6 in that paper". This is all beside the point, however, which was that 17 cyclones were found to have annular characteristics, but only 5 (or 6, I forget which now LOL) were found to be competely annular and fitting of their characteristics.
