is it possible for

a hurricane to get into the gulf this time of the year,I think i remember when we first moved to Sarasota Fl that we had a tropical storm the day before Thanksgiving,not sure though?

1985-Hurricane Kate made landfall in the FL Panhandle as a strong Cat 1 hurricane in late November.

Eight storms have passed within 200 miles of Sarasota after November 1st, three of them in the past 17 years. It's possible.

stormandan28, you're probably thinking of Tropical Storm Keith in 1988. It hit as a strong TS on November 23rd on Longboat Key.
