Just like most of you Floridians, I HATE the cold with a passion. The ONLY time I get excited for it to get cold is if there is a possibility of snow in the forecast. And you know how rare that is. And even with snow once or twice in the winter is enough because I hate the cold so much. So, I guess I rather just put up with the heat, humidity and the occasional hurricane threats. I am way more of a beach person than a mountain person. I love anything to do with being near the water or on the water.

As I posted above, I won't likely move out of the Sunshine State until my wife and I retire in our giant luxury RV to tour the continent. :D

A few weeks of angst in the summer and fall is not enough to overcome the incredible benefits (financial, climate, and lifestyle) of living in Sarasota.

I do recognize that my mind could change if my house were destroyed. But at least until then, I'm staying.

If I go anywhere, it would be farther South in FLA! I am a native and, like a lot of others, don't like cold!! 8-)

When I get older I will likely go to North Florida maybe Gainesville or Tallahassee. The population and construction boom in my area continues and its just sickening. I actually hope for repeated major hurricane hits to scare people away from moving here.

My wife and I lived in Boynton Beach for almost 6 years. We moved there from Iowa for my work in October 1999 and just moved back to Iowa City, Iowa this past July.

Both of our children were born there, so Florida will always have a special place in our hearts. We moved back to Iowa for several reasons:

1. Overall Friendlier people (we made some very good, life-long friends in Florida, but Palm Beach County can be brutal. Having so many people be rude just for the sake of being rude got old in the first month).

2. Public education system in Iowa is top-3 in the country. Our son started Kindergarten this fall.

3. Closer to our families

4. Home values. Our home appreciated 260% in the time we were there. We feared the wage/home value equation was getting upside down and the bubble would burst.

5. And yes, we weren't too fond of the increased hurricane activity.

We actually like the 4 seasons, but come this January, I'm quite certain I will miss standing outside in my shorts. There will be many things we miss about Florida (beaches, weather, no income tax)

Florida is a beautiful state. Many more midwesterners migrate to the Gulf Coast of Florida, and I find that area much more laid back and friendly. Of all things, I do VERY much miss seeing palm trees, but in the end home is home.

Well, as most of you know I am a California raised boy, but born on Tejas. As most of you know, I moved to Florida because of my Wife. I don't like it, but I have high tolerance for these people  .J/K, but I do plan on moving to Ft. Worth permanently. Florida is just not for me. Too much weirdness and woods  .
