I am back

#1 Postby wzrgirl1 » Wed Oct 26, 2005 9:54 pm

Well folks we made it although it wasn't easy.........I am lucky to be in the top 20 percent of people in broward that have gotten there power back...such damage in this area you would not believe........we had some roof damage.......lost all of our trees ...........got our power back today..........but i had two friends that lost everything...........many that lost cars............none of my friends or family have power...........ice was impossible to come by until this morning but things will get better...they always do.......you pull together and manage.......but the saving grace during the storm was walking to my garage and looking through a small hole to see what was going on every so often........it was scary yet mesmerizing at the same time.......I hope to never have to go through anything like that again....glad to be back folks

Good to have you back Wendy! I know this will surprise you but I live in Crystal Sound and we got our power back at 7pm last night just hours after Wilma left! I also had alot of damage to my swimming pool screen enclosure. The whole thing was knocked down! Also tons and tons of trees are down here so alooooot of cleanup work ahead.

edit: i mean 2 nights ago. sorry.

wzrgirl1, glad you are able to post and everyone is OK.

I had my first view of some damage to my boat and the bayside houses and docks today. Very bad. The sailing club marina is destroyed, but we also got power back quickly and have supplies.

Lots of cleanup ahead for everyone. Hope for the best and take care.

Yes we are I heard about that. So I guess I now learned that if you live in a hurricane prone area, try to live as close as you can to a hospital. lol
