Hope for y'all. My friend in Palm Beach Gardens called FPL today and was told that they would not get it back until the week of 11/15- 11/22. They were told this today. They just got their power back at 8pm. I also know someone in Jupiter who lost it and then got it back, and a day later lost it again. Torture. I live in Jupiter and lost it for a few hours during the backside of the storm, but got it back a few hours later. Sorry for bragging.

After Katrina, we were told that we would not get our power restored until after Labor Day. We were only without power for 3 days. The generator was a lifesaver and the fact that we bought the last window ac unit left at Lowes. So, after I got home from evacuating, the next 2 nights I slept in my parents bedroom. On a sleeping bag on the floor because that was where we hooked up the window AC unit.

After Andrew, we went 8 days without power, and were around the last ones in Terrebonne Parish to get it. Some downed power poles in the Schriever area near my home. Slept in Sears to get our generator with the dog, and the ironic thing is that the power came back on only a few hours later! In fact, after Katrina hit, was the very first time we got to use our generator. It finally came into use after 13 years of it just sitting there.
