Being in the roofing trade from what I have seen in the past few hurricanes I would have to say a metel roof. Not the 5-V style as it has not stood up as good as one would hope. Standing seam metal roofs have by far held up most. The metal is heavier gauge and the method in which it is installed holds up extremly well. Tile roof codes now do help,as we use an adhesive foam AND screw the tiles to the plywood. The problem with tile is the availability. Here in SW Fla. the wait is as long as 8 to 12 months. As for the underlayment, the hot mop is outstanding protection should the tiles be compromised. The peel and stick material is good provided it does not stay exposed to the weather for an excessive amount of time, ie 90 or more days. After Charley alot of contractors here used it but the wait for tile pased that time quickly and many had to be re-dryed in. Whatever roof type is chose though, the installation of that material is very critical to the performence of that product.
