I got my electicity back today

#1 Postby DelrayMorris » Mon Oct 31, 2005 7:40 pm

We were actually out of power less this time (7.5 days) than we were after Frances(9 days). The people across the street don't have theirs back yet though

The people that restored our power were from Brandon MS. I've seen trucks today from as far away as Michigan. Now these people (yes, I know that they get paid good for it) are my heroes.

I wasn't being sarcastic!! I live in Central Florida, I went thru the same thing 3x last year, although not as long as 7 dys! I was serious! Last year we stood outside in the front yard and cheered as the trucks from out of state came rolling through! They probably thought we were crazy!! LOL

Last year we were clapping our hands too when we seen the FPL trucks!

DelrayMorris... it's hard to see neighbors still without power. I remember last year people using extension cords to provide power to neighbors.

My bro in Wilton Manors still doesn't have power, but I emailed him the extension cord idea...first have to find out if ANYone near him does have power. He's a camper wilderness trooper but I know the idea of a hot shower and a home cooked meal does a body good.

rain not in the plan for few days but be really careful, we had big rains yesterday and the raods were flooded, wouldnt want an extension cord running through that.
