Eastern Caribbean wave

#1 Postby CaribJam » Fri Sep 09, 2005 5:30 pm

Can someone please indicate whether this wave in the eastern Caribbean has any potential of developing. There has been some slight flare up during today.

Thanks.

I doubt the ULL will develop, but the wave in the eastern carribean has the potential because th ULL is helping its outflow. We will just have to wait and see.

Here ya go. The wave is right on top of the antillies. The ULL is northwest of Puerto Rico.

Looks a little better today. I'd say development is possible down the
road

There is nothing at this time that warrants attention.

The tropical wave is under fairly brisk SE winds in the upper-levels that will prevent any strengthening in the immediate future.

That being said, I would watch it when it moves over the Western Caribbean in a couple of days where an upper-level anticyclone is expected to establish itself as the upper-level low north of Hispaniola moves NW and fills in.

If there's a well-defined entity in a few days, then we can talk...
