Good Thursday morning, S2KFamily!
Wonderful to hear about Steve, Dennis and Michelle being able to meet, chat and have lunch together!!
Hopefully many more of those rendezvouses for you all!
We're having our townhouse garage today inspected for termites...just an annual routine thing here by the housing association in part for the townhouse neighborhoods.
Going to take Mom and I to the market later today.
Hope everywxone has a Thabulous Thursday!

Ok, to all newbies, you have been forwarned. David is very, very territorial when it comes to his chocolate covered KK. Hey David, I hid a few behind the candlesticks on the mantle.
Ok, what is the name of our armadillo and our cow??????? HELP
I'd like to welcome all newbies to the stove. Sit back, relax and enjoy the friendship of this warm place.
Mmmmmm, Eggnog, Yum, Thanks
Have a great day everyone

Good idea for a new animal. Hows about chester the squirrel. Used to have a pet squirrel as a child, his name was oreo though.
Now I think I would like a glass of eggnog too, but I will top mine with some captain and nutmeg. Sounds good. And got to say, I love the chocolate KK's too, sorry David. I guess senority might pay off here, or I just may have to be a little sneaky.
Take it easy all, and I know I will after a few of those eggnogs.

Ok, I think we have to dig out the recipee, if it works, I'll post it on here, hopefully its cheaper to...O Town wrote:Good luck with the nogg brunota. Tell us how it goes. And how does one go about making egg nogg? I know there is eggs involved somehow, but is it cooked, or does it sit and ferment? Just curious. If it turns out, I would like that recipe, something fun to try.

HOWDY pot bellied buddies
WAIT, that's pot BELLY buddies
OK...a bit of history for the newbies here. I started the "Sittin' round the Pot Belly Stove" shortly after Sept. 11. Lindaloo had a thread called our "Circle of Friends" at TWC message boards and I expanded it even further. Back in the 50's, 60's, 70's there used to be a general store up here in a little logging town called McNary. This store had EVERYTHING you could POSSIBLY NEED, inside the store was a little coffee shop with this HUGE pot belly stove that had been in a "Round House", you see, they used to hall logs to the sawmill on a train and it was also a passenger train through the mountain passes, 10,000+ feet in elevation. ANYWAY, this old coffee shop WAS the gathering place for the mountain, people would come in for coffee, sit by the pot belly stove and swap stories, hunting stories etc. SO.....there you have it!
Well, that's nuff outta me tonight, so until tomorrow, "May the God Lord Bless and Keep you!" I'll leave the light on!
Dennis

i guess in the winter it was hard for him to find food.......and what made me know that he was the same one every winter he had a gray tail.......so i think he was up there in the age bracket!!!

Good Friday morning everyone!
First of all... sorry David for calling you Dennis. Your moderator bar got me all confused(plus, sometimes I think I can't read)!
Breeze... I know what you mean. Hopefully we will be able to chat more in the coming weeks and months.
Well, I am off to Lee's Summit (KC) today for a big speech and debate tourney. I hope the kids are ready!

No harm no foul Garrett!!!
Tell my cousins in Lee's Summit I said hello and GO Team Go!!!! I'm sure you have them ready. We know you are a great teacher!!!
Actually, we adopted Crouton the pig from a former TWC OCM who was/is a member here who moved to the NC area and said he could keep his pig. CRS causes me to forget his name. We decided that Crouton was lonely so we then brought in the other two. But, I think we aren't the best animal keepers and we didn't want them to be too restricted anyway.hehehe
Better finidsh the get ready for work routine. Laters and EVERYONE HAVE A WONDERFUL WEEKEND!!!
