Linda, this IS a SERIOUS problem, ESPECIALLY for senior citizens who are STRAPPED to begin with, medical bills, prescriptions, I mean, WHAT are THESE poor (not literally) going to DO? I have 3 neighbors in the SAME BOAT this winter.........

When we put this new house in 3 years ago we ALMOST went with 100% natural gas, heat, cooking, water heater, instead we went with propane AND a WOOD Stove for a heat source. The sales of wood stoves and pellet stove on the mountain this fall has increased some 200% according to the local ACE Store

People heating their homes with natural gas or heating oil are definitely the ones who are most affected by high petroleum prices.

Pburgh wrote:$2.19 here for regular.

I saw it down to 2.17 at Sheetz in Robinson this evening and 2.10 in Canonsburg yesterday at BP right off 79 south.

it has dropped 30 cents here in Lakeland from 2.79 to 2.39 at the station across from Lakeland Regional Hospital which is across town from us. The station a mile from the house is a 10 cents higher at 2.49. They are both the same brand ,Chevron.

Walmart sells gas? Hummm.
Its down to $2.39 here. So happy to see it get below $ 2.50. Driving the huge van that I do I put about 60 bucks in to fill her up. Keep on a falling, what a great sight it would be to see $1.98 on the gas sign. :D

My sister and I discussed this crucial concern too, Dennis. She is seriously thinking about biting the bullet and installing a heat pump. She has a three level home and her heating bill is already over 400 a month. It is going to double with that 70% rate increase. I have a heat pump in my home and I would not trade it for anything. Watch them raise the dang electric rates now. lol.

I agree. That is why I really do not complain anymore about rising gas prices. Because I know that someone out there is not going to be warm this winter.

2.65 is the lowest I have seen here. It's really ticking me off because a gas station across the street was still selling for 2.79. Crazy. Its also making me angry that gas is still so expensive here. But its dropping. It should be in the 2.40's this week at least.

Ok...down to $1.98 per gallon regular at a local "Huck's" ( and we get a $.02 discount, too, when paying with cash).

I've seen prices ranging from 2.28 to 2.69 today at different stations along my route to work. It is ridiculous the ranges we are seeing when we live in "the energy capital of the US!!"

$2.47 this morning just down the street here in Phoenix. My goodness, Santa may have enough left over after fueling up to actually deliver a present or two this Christmas!!

Cheapest I've seen so far is $2.53 for regular - most stations are in the 2.59 to 2.65 range.
