This included two slide animated .gif is a composite of the Sun intensity gram from the Wilson Observatory and the temperature differential from normal for Miami Florida. As you can see in the Winter of 2005 the Sun was less intense and in the Fall of 2005 the Sun was more intense.

I have done a comparison between the earth at aphelion and the front lens temperature of the SOHO satellite and I have found the following .

As the distance of the SOHO satellite varies the front lens temperature increases over time.

Since the satellite is at nearly the same latitude every year at aphelion it seems to me that the lens temperature should decrease as the distance increases.

This is a composite animation of the 195 angstrom full disk solar image in the iron spectrum from February 2000 under the November 2005 image. If you view it at a distance as it cycles you can see increased activity across the disk and if you look at it closely along the edge of the disk it looks more bright.
