GRLevel3 now showing two different mesos bearing down on Nashville, neither seem too conducive for tornado development, luckily. Should be a little show for the city, though.

Wow, this all reminds me of that cold front from November 15-16, 1989. That was the one that spawned that Huntsville, AL twister and the tornado in NY that blew down a school wall onto some students.

Yeah... it snowed the next day in Huntsville, so it's not *quite* as extreme, but it is pretty bad.

Also ironic that today is the anniversary of it.

We just had a tornado warning expire - thank goodness that
there is no damage - potential rotation still in that line to the
west of here. A lot of damage in more northern and western
counties in Tennessee, right now with numerous power outages
being reported. Just got back from my brother's house with the
basement, next door. Hoping that I don't have to go back!

Unfortunately, as I posted earlier, one death has already been reported. Some are missing, though at this point I'm assuming that since no more deaths have been reported they are all fine (hopefully).

The good news, as of 12:45 PM EST, all warnings have officially expired (though some could pop back up in the next few hours).

More tomorrow, including (hopefully) a tally of the warnings today, as well as some photos, video, and updated info on the tornadoes.

Here is video footage of the Madisonville Tornado and the damage afterward. "Nature's Fury" is the damage video and the one titled "Tuesday's Tornado" is the amateur video footage of someone taping the Madisonville Tornado.

I was thinking of you and Isobar yesterday when those tornado warnings were posted yesterday. I'm glad that you're all safe!

DARN IT! I just prepared a very long post and I lost it by accidently closing Storm2k. JUST GREAT.

Well, I guess I just have to start over. This post won't be nearly as detailed as the one I conjured up...

I unfortunately can't tally up the tornado warnings until I've the Tornado Warnings from Tennessee, NWS Louisville, Alabama, and Louisiana. If anybody knows where these can be found then please tell me. Thanks!

It was pretty hairy here, last night. We had another
tornado warning after I posted, but, that cell moved east
from Lawrenceburg, about 18 miles south of me. No damage
here, thank goodness!

Never mind, since I found that the best source was the NWS itself.

Here is the breakdown of Tornado Warnings issued by the NWS from 5 AM to Midnight CST, Tuesday, November 15, 2005. (note, some of these may be off by a few)

WFO - number of Tornado Warnings issued
    PAH (Paducah, KY) - 41
    OHX (Nashville, TN) - 34
    IND (Indianapolis, IN) - 23
    MEG (Memphis, TN) - 22
    LMK (Louisville, KY) - 12
    JAN (Jackson, MS) - 8
    ILX (Lincoln, IL) - 5
    BMX (Birmingham, AL) - 4
    IWX (Northern Indiana) - 3
    HUN (Huntsville, AL) - 2
LSX (St. Louis, MO) - 2
LZK (Little Rock, AR) - 2
    SGF (Springfield, MO) - 2
    DTX (Detroit, MI) - 1
    ILN (Wilmington, OH) - 1
LIX (New Orleans, LA) - 1
    SHV (Shreveport, LA) - 1

    TOTAL - 164

In all likelihood, over 300 warnings (svr t'storm, tor, and flash flood) were issued.

EDITED to add a slew of warnings I just discovered. Hey, I tried my best to make this data the most accurate as possible, but there is a possibility I may have saw one twice or I did not count one. If you see an erro please tell me about it, thanks.

Good to know you made it through. I diddn't get much, but our neighbor had a tree fall on his brand new front porch he just got finished in August.
The heavy rains of earlier in the overnight hours had something to do with that tree going down. I recorded somewhere around 6 inches of rain from midnight to 6:45 AM. The afternoon only gave me about a half of an inch.

Little did we know that on the same day one year later, although farther south, there would be another outbreak...
