Back at the ceremony Barbara Walters is interviewing Bret and Gert.
Barbara: Bret, Gert, so glad to see you, did you happen to run into Katrina when you sailed through the Gulf.
Bret: As a matter of fact we did, and boy did she have a nice eye. But she was still on the run from the WMO.
Barbara: When will she show up.
Gert: We don't know, but I am sure she will make a big splash. Dr. Phil supposedly had an exclusive interview with her go ask him.

Barbara: Folks you have heard it here on ABC first. Katrina will show up, we just don't know when. When she arrives we will be on the scene. Back to you guys at the studio. Oh and can some big <915 help out Cindy and Arlene.

BREAKING NEWS - Katrina has now officially arrived with... PHILIPPE! She says she wanted to encourage him and was impressed by his good start and that an unfortunate shear circumstance just crippled his potential! This time, Katrina is here FOR REAL! She got tired of being chased around and just said that enough is enough and that she just wanted to come here!

It is rumoured that Max Mayfield set Katrina and Phillippe up. Maybe Katrina can have an interview with Diane Sawyer Later...

Might Lake Okeechobee 1928 show up? He is still debating whether Katrina has surpassed his 2nd deadlist title. More of the old-timers should be invited to honor their achievements from a time when they weren't even respected with names.
And what about the deadliest champion and record holder, Galveston 1900? He is also the oldest surviving storm at the retirement home, and an American legend.
I hear Mitch might be giving an award...with his odd track, great eye, and great overall strength, he would be a good presenter for almost any category.
How about 1979's David...a major trendsetter, being the first male-named major hurricane in the Atlantic (his overshadowed brother, Bob '79, was the first, but he barely made hurricane and was quickly forgotten), who became famous with a 920's pressure and 170MPH winds, taking over 2,000 lives, and affecting the Leewards, Hispaniola, Cuba, Bahamas, and every single state of the eastern seaboard in his 15-day run?
New England '38 should be given an honorary award for blazing her own path...striking New England directly instead of messing about in the Caribbean, and doing a fine bit of damage.
And what of poor Hugo? No respect for the Carolina storms. Overshadowed by Andrew, and dismissed by Floridians & Gulf Coasters. A great eye, wonderful symmetry, Cat 4 strength at landfall. He may come with the storm formerly known as Fifi...another storm oft-forgotten despite her top-10 financial impact in the Atlantic (much controversy surrounded her because of her decision to cross over to the Pacific and change her name to Orlene before finishing her run).
