New "LOST" thread

Why Walt keeps appearing like that, water and all and talking backwards too, is very odd. Remember this kid has special powers. I think he appeared to Shannon, b/c she was taking care of his dog. With his dad gone, besides Locke, who would he have appeared to?
Wait until Sayid tells Michael he saw Walt. And that Walt appeared before to Shannon. There goes Michael again. He'll never return to camp.
I just think the writers want us to believe Ana shot Shannon. I've learned not to trust the obvious with Lost. Look for other possibilities.

Dramatic fate for 'Lost' character
But is the show playing more tricks?

Editor's Note: The following story, about ABC's "Lost," reveals events of Wednesday's episode. If you'd rather not know anything, stop reading now.
NEW YORK (AP) -- It would seem to be lights out for ...
(spoilers ahead)
... Shannon on "Lost."
The spoiled Daddy's girl was apparently killed off Wednesday night as the ABC thriller made good on its promise to eliminate one of its characters. (Read EW.com's observations on the episode.)
Hyped by the network as the episode that "people will be talking about all year long," it had indeed spurred lots of chatter even before it aired. Despite mighty efforts by the series' producers to keep secret the victim's identity beforehand, bloggers and other "Lost" sleuths seized on Shannon Rutherford weeks ago as the castaway most likely to be "lost forever."
Even so, the episode put forward another possible candidate: fellow refugee Sawyer (Josh Holloway). Feverish and weakened from a bullet wound, he fell into unconsciousness during a grueling hike through the jungle interior.
It seemed he was a goner. Or just a red herring? At last sighting, he was being carried on a makeshift stretcher by others in his party. His condition seemed grave. "Lost" can be a tease.
But by all indications short of a death certificate, the bell tolled for Shannon. Pushing through the thick jungle growth in frantic pursuit of Walt (Malcolm David Kelley), the vanished child whose image keeps haunting her, Shannon was mistaken for one of the demonic Others and shot by trigger-happy Ana Lucia (Michelle Rodriguez).
Wounded and bloody, Shannon collapsed into the arms of Sayid (Naveen Andrews), who had just professed his love for her -- and told her that, by golly, he had seen Walt's vision, too.
It was just another day on the uncharted tropical island where Shannon and dozens more airline passengers crashed last fall -- at the same time launching "Lost" into a hit.
Played by Maggie Grace, Shannon had been depicted as a sexy brat whose checkered past included seducing her stepbrother Boone Carlyle, a fellow island refugee until his death last season in a freak accident. Shannon was left reeling by that loss.
On Wednesday's episode, Boone (played by Ian Somerhalder) made a guest appearance in a flashback. He was seen comforting teenage Shannon upon the sudden death of her father, after which her stepmother rudely cut off her funds.
Then trust-fund Boone betrayed Shannon when he announced that Mom had offered him a well-paying job.
No wonder Shannon wrestled with abandonment issues.
"I know when we get out of here, you're just gonna leave me," she tearfully told Sayid moments before she was shot.
"I will never leave you," he said.
His devotion seemed to be a "Lost" cause.

Lost
Shannon was killed by Ana-Lucia... I so knew that chick was just up to no good. I just knew it! Sure it was an accident, Shannon and Sayid heard whispering, Ana and the other tailies heard weird voices and then bam, one bullet, one gun and one dead survivor. Up until that point of the evening, I was really getting a bit jealous of Shan's island life. She's got Sayid who built her a hut — which he claims he does "for all the girls I meet on deserted islands." (If that's true — sign me up!) — professing his undying love for her. Sure she's got hallucinations of Walt (who according to the local radio station who played his ramblings backwards, apparently said "The others are coming, They're close,"). But considering that Shan had been hopping from place to place for some cash because her stepmom - aka Sabrina the middle-aged witch - cut her off from her dad's cash, island life with a little crazy tossed in doesn't look all that bad. But the flashback did definitively tie together Jack's future wife and Shannon's dad to the same accident. Not too much consolation in the face of a lost cast member. Yeah, and back to angry Ana, clearly she's mad that the others took three people and then two weeks later another nine from their landing site, but she'd better have a real good reason for being that ticked off. And did Libby make sound like maybe there were kids with the tailies that were abducted by the Others too? Is there some sort of Peter Pan/Logan's Run/Lord of the Flies society going on? In other island news, Rose is creeped out by the hatch. Smart woman. Locke found out that Charlie has a secret heroin stash. Big trouble. Claire thinks other people know more about child-rearing and taking care of Aaron that she does. Yeah, that's probably true, but she was supposed to raise this kid for a reason. Oh and Locke, if you get off that island before early January, I could so use that lesson in how to swaddle a baby. I'm going to try and refrain from asking just where you learned your parenting skills from though, because, well you probably wouldn't tell me anyway. — Angel Cohn

Darnit, I kinda liked Shannon. Sure she was kind of selfish, but she was really starting to show her sweet side and by last night, I was hooked on her story. Well, I guess that was the point -get you to like her and then, boom, it's over. So sad.
Just when she found true love. Poor Sayid -that look on his face said it all.
I hope he rips into Ana. Why would she perceive an unarmed woman in a miniskirt with no place to carry weapons a threat? I know -logically-she got scared of the whispers and just didn't think, but still...with her hot headed and impatient temperament, why, oh why, would anyone give her the gun? I was shocked that the "others" actually ended up playing one group against the other - showing Walt to Shannon knowing the group was trying to get Sawyer back to Jack for help-then throwing in the whispers at the right time.
I can't wait til next week -it seems like a lot will be revealed. BTW, I loved the whole Charlie/Claire/Locke thing last night -kind of cute. Locke may be a little different, but he seems to be like American Express -"never leave home without him".

Hmmm... is it possible that Ana didn't shoot Shannon at all?

Maybe.
Got me thinking now about how that whole thing unfolded. Ya never know with LOST.
No one said anything about Charlie and how Claire told Loche that hes been carring around the statue. You guys remeber whats in the statues right? From the airplane crash Loche and Boone where exploring when Boone died. Just wondering how Loche will handle this, ecspecially when he is so involved in taking care of baby. I knew this would come into play at some point when they found all the statues last season. Now Charlie will have to fight those horrible demons again, and if he so wanted he could a lifetime supply. And when Claire finds out how will she handle it as well.
So the extended episode is 5 minutes. JOY!!! YIPPE a whole extra 5 minutes!!!!!!

Well it's Wednesday.

I wonder if they are even gonna touch base on what just happened with Shannon getting shot, or if it is going to be all about the rear of the plane group? We just may have to wait another week to see what really happened to Shannon. Kinda like who shot J.R.

Woo hoo, that was great!!! Gotta say I don't dislike Ana Lucia as much now. She pretty much took care of that other group, pretty smart cookie.
Gonna let the episode seep in some more and post later, just had to say that was an awesome episode. Next week is going to be great as well. We get to see everyone together!!!! I love this show.
