RECON just reported winds near 49 knots, that would be 34.3 knots in the surface, a tropical storm.

What ever it is it's moving NW and will come onshore very soon in Central Nicaragua and will travel over land for a while. Bottom line alot of rain for Nicaragua and unlikely it will develop much when it moves off land in a few days. IMO

Matt, I was just going to say that. It looks like it will stay plenty off shore. To my untrained eye, of course. Latest model runs look awfully familiar howver.

There are winds to support a TS, but no circulation found so there is no tropical cyclone. If it develops a LLC, then it will go up to Gamma.

I heard there was winds to support 35 knots=tropical storm. It appears to have a cirulation. But the nhc thinks theres not enough westly winds.

Where did they find those winds? Was it near the naked swirl about to move onshore near central Nicaragua or near the blob of clouds to the N.

Any new RECON reports? Has the plane gone back to the base? Also, will there be any new missions scheduled?
