236 deg is more a westerly component than a southerly one, only 34 deg off completely westerly. None of the mini obs show easterly winds. I'm getting confused now, lol, I know which way tropical waves move. :wink:

The last mini obs show between 222-238 direction winds.

Thanks thudnerchief, that helps explain why they didn't find any west winds. It's because they couldn't go across the coastline.

ok, thanks, yep, they pushed it to 45 MPH, or 40 knots, just a few moments ago, so they are airing on the side of caution...

it looks like the center of low is near or over land south of 16N, where the plane wont fly.

Plane has decended to operational altitud and is flying at 300m.Now let's see if they find a stronger storm,a weaker system or the same as in the past 12 hours.
