does anyone remember the "2" inside wilma's eye right before the florida landfall? maybe it was trying to tell us something..................like perhaps a second storm was coming in nearly the same location.........

If my memory serves me correctly, there was a fair amount of concern with Wilma and tornadoes and South Florida, which didn't seem to materialize from what I remember. Is Gamma likely to produce a higher risk of tornadic activity across South Florida, perhaps due to the cold air or front which it may encounter?

Wxman57 needs not to say anymore...I think we all get his point. Gamma will be "Ripped apart" and that South Florida is the last place in this world where a tropical system will hit.

Interestingly enough, a few days ago he was the same to say that there would never be a "Gamma". Time will tell what happens...not Wxman57.

Well, TD 27 did dissipate, as I said it would. I didn't say there wouldn't be the potential for regeneration. And if you want to be technical, the circulation center that became Gamma was from Invest 93L, not TD 27. We tracked that LLC northward up the coast of Nicaragua yesterday then across NE Honduras to where it merged with TD 27's remnants and became Gamma. TD 27 never redeveloped its own circulation (not that it ever had one in the eastern Caribbean).

Remember, the center is near the southern edge of that red area. The convection is displaced north of the center, so there is no eye forming.

According to the 3 CST advisory, this is 27. If it were 93L's circulation, it'd be 28.

IMO, wxman57 is one of the top mets on this forum. I always go directly to his (and Mike Watson's) posts before any others.

There is also a possibility the eye reformed where that lighter spot is and is beginning to intensify. You can clearly see the clouds moving around the light green area.

I think the center did reform, look at the multispec:
