Kicked in the stomach :( not literally though

#1 Postby Josephine96 » Sun Nov 20, 2005 11:02 pm

I just feel that way tonight.

I went to church at 9:15 this morning, a friend of mine named John.. who was 1 of the associate pastors of my church gave me a present, and then pulled me into his office cause he needed to talk to me.

He proceeded to tell me.. "I wanted you to be 1 of the 1st to know that I am resigning from FBC Kissimmee because I have been offered a position as a pastor of a church up near Gainesville. and we leave on 12/13".

John and his family have been so wonderful to me the last 2-3 years.. I have trouble gripping that in 2-3 weeks they won't be here anymore.

John did already tell me that he'll give me his # once he gets settled, and that if I ever need to come up and see him, he'll get me a bus ticket and I'd be on my way..

It just won't be the same though. This is 1 thing, I hate the fact that everytime I become attached to somebody.. they leave

"Those who touch our lives stay in our hearts forever"

Yes, you will miss him and his family, but what you have gained in your life because of your friendship with them will stay with you forever.

That is true..

Plus like I said.. it's not a total loss. He told me if I ever wanted to come up there.. he'd send me a bus ticket and then I could come up..

I'll probably go up there during my vacation, when I take my vacation sometime in January.

I know how you feel, except with me its not just one person or family, it's an entire church family and a country!... I know though, that the Lord uses these situations to draw us closer to Him, even though we may not understand that at the time.
