Better windstorm/lake effect pictures taken today

#1 Postby mcw » Fri Nov 18, 2005 2:55 pm

Got another 10" overnight/this morning...about 18" down and possibly more coming. Here's pictures from a few minutes ago - all within 2 miles of my home...

Here's my front yard (spruce tree making its second appearance on s2k):

The lake access for a small lake at the end of the drive:

Looking north up the road - the dark clouds are the snow band just offshore. Look at the first power pole - that's not a guy wire, it's a supply line for a home running under a snow laden pine bough. It's usually above it. Hope the power doesn't go out again.

Stopped by the lake, just around the curve in the pic above to take a shot of this:

Saw a loon in the lake, framed by snow covered pines, it dove as soon as I lifted the camera, but I turned around and got this shot instead!

Here's a closer look...it's a bald eagle.

This willow didn't survive the winds.

Finally, the obligatory "snow on the pines" picture. Enjoy!

I love those pictures. Especially the first one with the tree in your yard.

Very nice pics... I'd like one good snow like that, but no more.

I had a dream that it snowed like that in Southern Florida. I guess I really miss the white stuff.

 Thank you! Thank you for sharing those with us. For those of us who only see liquid snow your pictures are a treat.
