At my age, being thankful I'm still alive leads the list.

After watching the devastation of Katrina, and then getting Rita here, as well as the others...I'm most thankful this year to just be here. I've gone through a lot, both emotionally and financially, but I'm grateful that my house is still standing and all of my family is safe. Many people's aren't. I have a warm/cool place to sleep, many don't. I think this year, more than any other, I'm also thankful for the little things, the things we all take for granted.

Have a happy and blessed Thanksgiving everyone. :)

My family. My friends. Just being alive. A house to live in with no damage from Katrina and Rita. A lot of people that live in the southern part of my parish (Terrebonne) lost their homes due to flooding from Rita. I am thankful that the floodwaters did not reach my part of the parish. And pray for the people who were not as fortunate and have to deal with the losses from this horrible 2005 hurricane season.
