I'd call that text language rather than internet shorthand. Whenever I send text messages on my mobile phone I always spell words out properly. The only one I tend to use on here is "lol". I hate it when people skip out half the letters, makes it impossible to read and makes the person who sent it look stupid.

Use it all the time. (The BTW's, FWIW's, LOL's, etc. shorthand, not the u's, r's, etc. shorthand).

I try to write out the words. I have never used shorthand in a long time.

I'm in 10th grade right now, FF is Friends Forever, and BFF is Best Friends Forever, BF is either Boyfriend or Best Friend, Best Friend for me since I'm a guy...lol and GF for, what I'd use it for, Girl Friend!!!

I use GF to denote great fries. Like if the fries from a restaurant were particularly delicious.
