It's said that a picture is worth a thousand words!

Note: Some storms appear in the map twice because of multiple landfalls in the US.

Great graphic HURAKAN. Thanks for sharing.

How different this is from a couple years ago when everyone was complaining about the lack of hurricane "excitement" in the USA. From October 1999 when Irene struck South Florida, there was not a US hurricane landfall until Lili hit Louisiana in October, 2002.....almost 3 years of no hurricane activity at all in the US. Sure, we had a few tropical storms, but I can remember many Storm2k members lamenting the boring hurricane seasons we were "enduring". I bet those same people would like to return to the nice boring days of 2000 and 2001 in light of what we have just experienced in the past 2 years.....

I had a close encounter with a tornado in 2000 when I was 12 years old and that experience taught me to never wish for bad weather again....

Actually, BT says no. (Scroll down to end of chart)

Another thing, Charley never made landfall on Cape Cod.

Well, that was the initial analysis, Best Track data will differ. But since Charley did impact Long Island and Cape Cod I guess that necesitates it to be put on the map. :)

Have you ever notice Tampa Bay, how our region from Sarasota to Tampa has been sort of "missed" for years/decades now. I'm not feeling good at all about the upcoming years. Katrina has really made me reconsider living here...
