From October 1999 when Irene struck South Florida, there was not a US hurricane landfall until Lili hit Louisiana in October, 2002.....almost 3 years of no hurricane activity at all in the US. Sure, we had a few tropical storms, but I can remember many Storm2k members lamenting the boring hurricane seasons we were "enduring". I bet those same people would like to return to the nice boring days of 2000 and 2001 in light of what we have just experienced in the past 2 years.....

I had a close encounter with a tornado in 2000 when I was 12 years old and that experience taught me to never wish for bad weather again....
