Frozen Precipitation Possible Thursday in SE TX!

Local met Greg Bostwick on KFDM just mentioned that it's possible we could see some frozen precipitation Thursday afternoon. He mentioned sleet but I'll hope for snow! Right now, the high is only supposed to be 36° with 80% chance of precipitation.

Temps have been dropping here all day and it's getting quite chilly.

After quite a few hot days, lows are in the 30's to mid-20's for at least the next 5 days! It's starting to feel a lot like Christmas...

Looks very possible. Joe Bastardi from Accuweather thinks lots of this area may not get out of the 30s on Thursday and an ice threat could extend to I-10. Some of the models are seeing a snow/ice threat this far south too, but I think the heaviest stuff will stay north. North Texas could get a few inches of snow, but down here, ice should be the primary concern (may be changing to snow on the backside). Then again...it is just as likely for us to see all rain. We'll have to watch closely. Any accumulations in SE Texas should be light at best and mainly north of I-10. Winter storm watches are already up for north Texas, and highs will struggle to get above 32 in Dallas on Wednesday and Thursday. An interesting week is ahead for the entire state...and yes, I too, hope it turns out to be snow down here...I'll keep wishing.

I'm hoping for flurries or sleet as the precip ends on Thursday. Thursday morning seems to be our best chance at frozen precip but the local mets around here aren't talking about it, nor the NWS. We'll see what happens but at the least we could have hard freeze later this week.

Local Met Cecilia Sinclair on Fox 26 News in Houston just mentioned the possibility of ice in outlying areas of the city on Thursday morning. She said it is a "tricky forecast" that we should continue to watch carefully. The local Mets in Houston are FINALLY starting to mention at least the CHANCE of wintry weather...just 2 days ago it was only suppose to be marginally cold, with highs forecast at 50-55 for Thursday with no freeze threats mentioned...but now (almost overnight) the forecast is suddenly for highs in the middle 40s and lows as cold as the middle 20s...who knows what the forecast will be tomorrow at this time? The colder the better in my eyes...I want to see some snow!
