All the schools are closed due to the icy roads, so me and the boy will play some Madden 06 today, and I will be making my homemade stew. YUM...anyway yall stay warm and have a great day!!
P.S recieved about .25" of frozen precip at the house.....

Well, my scoreboard for this event reads: Accuwx's JB 1, NWS 0.

When I got up this am it was 33 at the house. It was down to 30 by the time I left at 9am. Looks like we may see a day where we struggle to get past 32! This is just about normal for Houston as far as first freeze event. Actually I believe the average date is DEC 12. Definitley to dang cold for me with the wind chill in the high teens/low twenties!!!

I guess you're in charge of the running scoreboard this winter season.![]()
Yep score one for JB and NWS dropped the ball on this one here in Texas. FYI, JB in his late evening update said Colorado has a good chance at being colder up there than with this outbreak the last 10 days of the month . Seems like if thats the case, we have a shot at it too.

Most state agencies (including mine) are scheduled to open at 10 a.m., but I'm wondering about how challenging the ride in might be.

CC, I can't help but think back to last week when NWS told me it would be in the low 50s today. Yeah, right ....![]()
Anyhooo .... the arctic outbreak for later in December looks ominous for us in Texas and the southern Plains. Check out Aggiecutter's EURO Falls in Line post!
