Update: Continued prayers needed for mom
As if we haven't been through enough this year...
My mother is now in River Parishes Hospital (in Laplace LA) with a tube in her nose and an IV in her neck cause they couldn't find a decent vein to put it in...
We rushed her to the hospital on Sunday with nausea and vomiting. She is a diabetic, so nausea + vomiting = a big no no. Warning signs go up after that.
So we spent upwards of 7 hours in the frigid ER, which believe it or not was colder than it was outside (and Sunday was a fairly chilly day), waiting for the personnel to figure out what they were going to do... meanwhile my mother continued to suffer, and suffer, and suffer.
Finally they put her in a room at about 5:30 Sunday evening, and by that time I was spent. It was at that point that they decided to stick a tube in her nose to drain her stomach of acids that were causing her nausea...
Anyway, I would have posted about this sooner, but I've been back and forth to and from the hospital... you can imagine, this has also put my home renovations (courtesy of Katrina) on hold for awhile. We've ripped out the carpet but thats all. But like I told my cousin in Washington state -- I'm thankful to have a home to renovate after so many others have lost everything.

Quick update: I had to go yesterday (in all the rain) to pick mom up from the hospital. She's currently staying with me, but she insists she wants to go back to her house. She's doing okay. She's weak and can barely stand up, but at least I still have her, which is a blessing in and of itself.
Thank you all for your prayers and have a blessed Christmas!
