Poll: Which Threads/Discussions Need to Die?

#1 Postby joe_koehle » Sat Dec 17, 2005 10:12 pm

It seems to me like there are so many topics that are discussed/debated weekly in this forum that really need to be put to rest...so let's see what everyone else thinks about the topics that never seem to die.

I think there needs to be debate on Camille. In also for Katrina or dooms day like tracks.

I think all of the discussions are warrented except for "OMG the ITCZ" and the JB flames.

But I voted for the latter since I guess if we are bored we can just look at the ITCZ, and during the season the ITCZ can be crucial in determining the amount of activity - and where the activity goes.

i agree that many of these discussions are warranted, but the problem is that many of the warrants boil down to a discussion of subjective experience vs. scientific data....i guess that's the thing that peeves me about the katrina/camille/ even the recent wilma threads...it's interesting stuff until there are 30 pages of back and forth of people claiming they can discern windspeeds and whatnot.

but i'm still pretty addicted to storm2k, so i'll read all the crap that's posted anyways :D

The solar effects on TC's IMO are pretty important, perhaps one day this new field will help us predict TC's better.

I think that needs more evidence before people start debating it though

Who are you to say that this can't be discussed? We are a weather discussion board. IMO, nothing that is posted is "crap" except this thread.

Well down here in these parts Katrina will be discussed for a long time. Went to the mall today and all I heard was about Katrina. When I run into someone I know they have tales to tell. I can discuss it if I want to. :D

Yea, you can discuss them, but when someone repeatedly posts it was a Cat 4, or a big arguement comes up on its strentgh, well, itgets annoying...oh, can i suggest as an answer the January 2000 thread in the Winter forum, espectally pages 1 and 2...

i'm not saying anything "can't" be discussed.....that's not up to me to decide. but, the idea that no thread except this one is crap is laughable...anyone who spends as much time on this website as you should know that.

I think the biggest arguements that need to go are the ones where people deny proven facts
