I just hope....A. We keep what we have on the ground untill christmas which may not happen because it will get to 40 this week with a chance for rain. B. It snows on chiristmas eve and or christmas. We have about 2 inches on the ground. So keeping my fingers crossed for that weekend storm.By the way i live in central ohio.

we will see... still a close call for you folks in ohio. it will obviously be rain until the cold air comes in. then you have a chance to pick upsome accum. if there is any moisture left.

Jeff, 12Z GFS shows some interesting since it appears that is has this system bombing out a few hundred to the ESE of LI, and has the Tri-State area somewhat colder as the weekend's warmth will be short-lived and not as warm as previously thought. That's at least what I gleen from the quick look. Here's hoping you guys see some white by the end of Christmas Day!! We're in the mid 60's here in Melbourne, FL.....BRRR 8-)

I'm looking for hype and hope!

For the hype, everyone is too scared to comment on the weekend's events as Ohio once again is relying on good timing..and as for hope, well as already mentioned...we need cold air to dig in as quickly as possible on the rain.

Last December, (mostly the first half), there were many times that cold air would dig in behind some rain, but never enough moisture left.

As for the snow on the ground...i think there is very little hope that its still there on Sunday...except where they've ploughed it into piles of course!

Fingers crossed then for those in central Ohio..even a nice half inch on the ground come Sunday morning will do...i'm not asking for a big storm this time..just something more festive than rain! Even back home in the UK they're going to manage a frost on Sunday! (I know, not really a white christmas but parts of the UK have been so snow starved in recent years...frost is all they can get!)
