*sigh*......All's quite here at work, heading home here directly for a few hours then it's back on the streets for the DUI Task Force. I was supposed to work until 0400 tomorrow morning I have HOWEVER found out that "if" it's slow, I will be dismissed at 0000 hrs. 8-) sadly, I don't expect THAT to happen, you know how people are at the holidays

ANYWAYS..........just thought I'd pop in for a second to wish EVERYONE here at Storm2K a "Merry Christmas!" May you find the joy and peace you need at this time of year under the tree...........save a Eggnog with a *splash* of Brandy for me would ya?

Merry Christmas!

Huh? Nothing about squid earlier in my mind at all. I was referring as to why I had dubbed you the Jermeister in an earlier post...was in one of my humorous moods is all. :) I also know that you could use some cheer and humor, Bro, during your recovery. 8-)

Hope you have a wonderful time with the family tomorrow, Wxbuddy! :)

God Bless You,

The Earl Grey was delicious, Garrett, thanks! That Crouton
is such a rascally piggy, indeed!

Shannon, we'll all be sooo glad when you are posting from
Menasha! We'll have to have a BIG 'ole Storm2K toast in
the Storm2K Bar! Wooo-Hoooo!

Mama is doing really well after having her foot surgery to
repair that 'ole hammer-toe. I took a vacation day today
and carried her back to the surgeon. He took her stitches
out, and, was very pleased with her progress. She has
gotten quite self-sufficient, wearing a wooden shoe on her
right foot that keeps the pressure off of the toes, walking
on the heel of the right foot only, and, using a walker for
support. I do the things for her that she absolutely can't
do, but, otherwise, I offer to do it, and, it's, "No - I can
do that - you just watch me!" Well, yes, ma'am.....
She goes back in 2 weeks to get the
pin out of her toe, and, I suspect she'll be able to ditch the
walker, then - we'll see! She has only had to take Tylenol ES
since three days after surgery, and, just occasionally, for
minimal pain.

I left a big plate of pecan turtles and divinity for you hungry
folks - just watch that piggy!

It's almost Friday - YAAAY! Have a great night!

Hi all - doing a quick pop in. We've had a busy after-xmas week. Lots going on each day and that's as it should be. But it's exhausting too! It's nice having our college aged daughter home for 5 weeks but my it's different. She stays up late, sometimes 3 a.m. Sleeps until 1 p.m. somedays. By 11 each night we're ready to unplug the tree, put the dog to bed, turn in and the doorbell is ringing. Friends popping over. Will I miss this when she's back on campus - you bet! But on another level, I long for quieter days, real meals on the table (we've been out a few times with family or friends, parties to attend). But I hear all of this is normal when your son or daughter comes home from college. We've had a few real honest to goodness arguments in the family - expectations we had, that never happened (more time with her), etc. Nina's just used to getting online, chatting with a friend in our area, who is then ringing our bell or blowing a horn in our driveway and out the door she goes, again!

I'll adjust but it's different!!! Never to be the same again I know.......

Jeremy - I hope your post-op recovery is going as well as it was last time I read your topic. You've been in my thoughts and prayers this holiday season.

Well, if I don't get a chance to pop in again, I want to wish you all a Happy New Year. To our S2K family members who were affected by Katrina, bidding 2005 goodbye and ringing in 2006 will really feel good. 2006 can't be as bad as 2005 was!

Morning everyone. Sure glad I got in here to have a piece of divinity before it was all gone.

Breeze - sure glad to hear your mom's on the road to recovery. If she is anything like you, which I am sure she is, she'll be back to 100% in no time!!

Mary - It is different now for your family I suppose. And this being the first real "break" you have had with Nina, it will take some getting used to. I had the same kind of issue with my parents when I first went off to college, but after a while it gets ironed out and you start to adjust to the changes. It is never easy for any of the family, but in time, it will come to be the "norm". Now that I am back in the same town as the family, we have grown a lot closer, but in a different way.

Hope everyone has a safe and happy New Year!!! Be safe, all right?

Afternoon everyone. Just a quick pop in.

Mary, yeah I am doing fairly well. I still have a way to go until I am back to 100%. But, that's to be expected.

David, I just KNEW you'd pull something with the "Squid" nickname! I got your card today, and I appreciate it! :)

Pojo, can't wait til you're back stateside!

That's about all I have for now. Catch you all later!

Mary, it took me a while to get used to my Dad's rules... However, with some time, I did adjust. She will try to test you for a little bit, but she's just trying to get her feet wet, per se, with your rules again.

Oh yea... I cannot wait for the military rotator to land in BWI. We are ALL anxious to get back to the states for a family reunion!!!

Happy New Year Everyone!

Here's best wishes for a prosperous and rewarding year to all.

Hang in there Pojo, you've almost made it.

Well our dogs ran away (again) last night around 11:00. There was some kind of confusion about closing a door when my son's friends were over. Now the dogs have been gone for 12 hours. they have collars and license tags and we notified the county communications/911 center. This happened last Easter too. What is it with holidays? That time they were gone for 8 hours and were found about 10 miles away!

that's a lousy time to quit smoking, but I put out my last cigarette at 11:59 pm and then put on the patch before going to bed. This morning I didn't have that craving for the wake-up cigarette. I'm eating lollypops to satisfy the hand/mouth thing. So we'll see. It would be easier if my dogs were here. :(

GOOD moRNING AND HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!!!

I hope everyone did at least a little celebrating last night, of course of your own choosing!!! We stayed home and just enjoyed veggimg amd watching the different celebrations on the tube. There were plenty of fireworks all around us to watch even though they are illegal in the City of Houston. Even any aerial were banned this year due to the drouhgt, but they were everywhere too. Unfortunately, at about 1:30 am we had to call the constable in to have our driveway unblocked and to get the fireworks stopped. I don't like doing that, especially on a neighbor, but blocking my driveway, intended or not, and fireworks still being shot off at 1:30 am is too much for this old crumudgeon.

Jeremy, I meant what I said about the SQUID!!!! I am so happy to know you are continuing to improve. I imagine the world will have to watch out when you hit 100%!!

Pojo, what a celebration it is going to be when you return home!!!! We all look forward to it!!!

BTW, Crouton stumbled by a little while ago mumbling somthing about too much noise and his head. Does anyone know what that's about?

Here's to the beginning of the best year yet for EVERYONE!!!!

I happened to notice a pig when I was in the bar last night, but I didn't think it was Crouton. This one had on a wig. Hmmm..

Yep! That has to happen and I have to be able to get out of my house. When those two combine, then look out!
