lol - who wants to catch this one?!
Come one Alex. Would you really want to share your wife? I think someone should put a "warning" in the title for the young ones before I go any further!
LOL, I never said anything about sharing my wife.

hehehehe.

Ahhhh - got ya. Well then, that wouldn't be swinging. That would just be out-right adultery.

Problem is that there are many people who think that everyone should do EXACTLY what they'd do in these sexual/marriage matters, hence the outrage by some when it comes to people who swing.
No, my problem comes in when children are EXPOSED to it. While I may not agree with the practice, for several reasons, just keep it out of my face and we are fine, thank you.

I deleted my original post because I thought I should quote on it (and re-post it). Anyway I want to hear the swingers' side of this story. So far I'm only hearing the side of the parents in this. Without hearing another side to the story, I'm reluctant to accept everything the parents are saying as truth. I don't personally know whether the parents are distorting anything that they said, or not, and have no way of knowing for sure if they are.

I'm not a parent, and I'm no prude either, but even I can see there is something wrong here. Look, I know someone who swings. Yeah, I was taken completely off guard. But these people go to a "swing club". I didn't even know they HAD swing clubs, but apparently they do. Point being, they are not exposing others who may not wish to be.

I've heard of swing clubs, and the police raids (and sexually related charges) that sometimes happen to them, hence my original point. (no children allowed in swing clubs) Given your stated view about swingers exposed to children vs swingers in general my statement doesn't really refer to you.
I do think that the hotel should have told the parents about the swingers and the room the swingers were using should have had opaque walls so outsiders (namely children) couldn't see in. I didn't say that there was no blame to be had here, I just don't want to lay it at the swingers' feet without hearing their side of the story, and knowing what the views of said parents on such matters (when swinging is done more discreetly)
Edit: In addition to the opaque walls, someone at the door standing guard to keep children from entering

i guess i dont see the big deal here.
That's a good point. There are certainly many parties (not just swing parties) that would be inapropriate for children. Perhaps if people are going to arrange parties (using certain rooms, that likely have to be reserved beforehand) there should be a hotel policy to say whether or not children would be allowed into the reserved room for the party. Probably the best alternative that way swingers can have their party and parents don't have to worry about their children seeing what the swingers are doing. Oh and no see through walls would be a very good idea too.

Marriage = commitment and monogamy (at least, in my book)
You're entitled to live your marriage in a faithful and committed way if you choose. Nothing wrong with that.
I only have a problem if you decide that everyone must live their marriage the way you would live yours, and you would take steps to make them live the way you'd live your marriage even if it's against their will to do so. As long as you're non-interventionist (in other people's marriages) with your views you get no problem from me.

*snicker* Actually, no, I'm not even entitled to get married. But I still have an opinion about it.

I was simply answering wxcrazy's question and pointing out why I think swinging is considered taboo. Heck, if you wanna fuss at people for deciding how people should live their marriages, you're fussing at the wrong person. I voted to keep the sacrament free from intervention.

Oh ok, so we do have some common ground on this.
On the entitled to get married thing. I see what you mean in the sense that you have to have an opposite sex partner (of legal age and not related to you) that wants to get married to you in order to get married.
