Just got a tooth pulled. It was severly absessed at the root. Never taken antibioctics before but they gave me clindamycin. Hope I can eat soon. At least I am off today and tommorow. They say I can't smoke either. :(

I feel for you. I hate having teeth pulled.

As a teenager, at various times I had to have 8 baby teeth, 4 permanent teeth, and my 4 wisdom teeth pulled. Ouch, indeed!

Had that done a few times. You have to give the socket time to heal because the suction generated by smoking can dislodge the clot, causing a dry socket. That is VERY painful. Give it a few days at least.

Johnathan,

Prayers and thoughts sent your way, Wxbuddy. ((((HUG))))

I had a tooth pulled last year...had come down on an errant piece of walnut shell in a salad I ordered at a restaurant and (hairlined) fractured it...was fine for awhile but then got worse over time later...pain radiating so went in and had it excised.

Ouch in deed Johnathan. Been there, done that and yeah it does hurt. A lot. But it passes, you just wished it passed fast!

I remembering it hurting to sip tea or drink. And you're starving too.

Hang in there, maybe by the weekend you'll be back to your old self? Hope so!

Thanks everyone. I think my dentist made all the difference... He was really awesome. Even though he had to cut the tooth out in y pieces  and the absess was so bad it was on my palate... I have a NO pain and I just ate some cottage cheese. :D I can't rinse my mouth for 24 hours guess i will brush it and swallow the paste  but all and all it wasn't or isn't that bad. Like I was telling my neighbor..after what some people have been through these past years in Hurricane alley... a tooth being pulled pales in comparison. Thanks again for the well wishes (((HUGS)))

Join the club, Jon! Follow the Doctor's, er, Dentist's orders.

When I was young and stupid I would make fun of people with missing teeth. Now I'm one of them! Implants are so darn expensive.

I agree. :( I wish I had dental insurance. At least it's in the back of my mouth.

Oh Johnathan, I'm so glad you're feeling a little better. I had my wisdom teeth pulled when I was in high school. I have my fingers and toes crossed that those are the only ones that I ever have pulled. Being from West Virginia I guess I'm lucky. lol jk

Jonathan!!!OUCH!!!! sounds like it is going well for you considering the circumstances. When I had my wisdom teeth pulled in high school I was down for 3 days with major pain meds going in on a regular schedule. Still sending those extra prayers for no pain and quick healing.

My experience was much the same. Gives me the shivers to reflect back on it!
