Well, I buzzed through some old posts and got enough info to figure out at which store John works. I called and asked to speak to a manager and, through a crappy connection, was able to relay who I was and why I was concerned about locating him. Of course, I knew she couldn't give me personal information like a phone number or anything. But she did take my name and number and said that if she could reach him, she would ask him to call me.
At first, however, she said she didn't have a cart pusher named John who worked there. But then after I was able to explain enough about how I knew John, I asked if he was there at least a month ago (the last time we heard from him) and added that we knew he had been an employee there for over a year. She then said she knew who John was. That's when she took my name and number.
Here's a prayer hoping she can reach him, whever he is, and that he will be in contact with us -- either to me on my cell or online. Even in a financial crunch, there's always the free internet at the library if he can't call me long-distance.
I tried....

As soon as I heard about that story, I immediately thought about John.

I hope John is okay. That is why I like Storm2k. We are like a big family even though most if not almost all have not officially met in person. When a frequent poster has not posted in a while, then everyone gets concerned. I miss hearing his latest Wal-mart gossip. At first, it used to get on my nerves and I used to not read it. But, when he has not posted for so long, then I do get concerned, and miss him. I am just hoping maybe he has internet problems and can't get on the computer to post. I know the library has free internet service. But, he also does not drive. His only transportation would be the bus to get there.
